Mianyang (simplified Chinese: 绵阳; traditional Chinese: 綿陽; pinyin: Miányáng; Wade–Giles: Mien-yang) is the second largest prefecture-level city of Sichuan province in Southwest China. Its population was 5.45 million in 2015 covering an area of 20,281 square kilometres (7,831 sq mi) consisting of Jiangyou, a county-level city, six counties and two urban districts. Its built-up (or metro) area was home to 1,722,133 inhabitants including the city proper of Mianyang (two urban districts) and An County largely being conurbated as urbanisation sprawls. In 2006, Mianyang was ranked as China's third "most suitable city for living" by China Daily, after coastal cities Dalian and Xiamen., but it has since dropped out of the top 10.

I was here on business staying in the hotel on top of the mountain and had some spare time so we walked down here and had a stroll. Pretty much everything is in Chinese, but luckily for us we had a Chinese colleague with us who could explain some of the symbolic meanings. She also informed us that they have Concerts and plays here some evening. Unfortunately we couldn't attend one.
Even without the translation help it is still worth a visit. The temple is beautiful and and so is the garden. Very calming. If you walk in after 5pm (I think it was) it is for free, otherwise there is a symbolic charge.

I was so intrigued at how many different temples there were there. The 3D murals are so beautiful, and colourful. Burn some incense for your good fortune.

this park is based on a beautiful story in China which is about hundreds years ago, maybe thousand...and there's a tomb of a great General from ancient China,it's kind of weird layout, but you don't feel any strange, cuz the planner has considered and give the peaceful place for the hero on the top of the hill and save the landscape for the fair lady's story...

The old Yue Wang Tower was damaged in one of the earth quakes in the area and was rebuilt. In this tower they are setting up a new kind of museum (some exhibition parts still under construction within the tower).
You would take the lift up to the 15th floor (top floor) to enjoy the view on a clear day. Up stairs there is also a stage and you have the possibility to test out some traditional clothing and possibility to purchase something to drink (i.e. tea).
You walk down stairs where each floor has a different exhibition, some with calligraphy as a theme, others with overview of famous poets from the Sichuan and Mianyang area. Ensure you have a Chinese speaking person with you as all the information is in Chinese.
For me it was simply a nice exhibition were I yet again learned something new about China - and that in a quite peaceful place.

The mall has the How Right Hotel behind it, withe the Mianzhou Hotel and the people's park a 5 minute walk away. There is a Walmart, and many good shops and restauarnts within the mall. Most are on the expensive level, but good for a treat. There are usually displays outside and inside the mall which are of interest to children and adults.
