Flygvapenmuseum, the Swedish Air Force Museum, is a modern technical and cultural history museum with Exhibitions that trace the development of military aviation from the pioneers of the early 20th century to the present. It offers a unique collection of aircrafts, many of which can only be seen at the Swedish Air Force Museum. Perhaps the most spectacular object in the collection is the Swedish DC-3, an aircraft that was a shot down by a Soviet fighter aircraft in 1952. More than fifty years later the DC-3 was found, salvaged and put to its final resting place here at the museum. Flygvapenmuseum is a place where knowledge and play come together in a natural way. The museum's science centre, the Flight Lab, features flight simulators and experimental stations on the theme of flying. Become a pilot for a day and sit behind the controls of the flight simulator - like flying for real!

My wife and I spent a few hours at the museum, which was fantastic and was not only enlighting on the Swedish involvement and development of airplanes but also very informative on the Swedish involvement during the world wars
What was an added bonus was to see the aircraft that was shot down by Russian Migs
Recovered/salvaged from the bottom of the ocean many years later,is now in the museum

Open air museum. It's free and a good chance to get to know Swedish culture. Situated between the city center and the university, it offers a wide range of artscraft shops, coffee shops and restaurants, museums and paths to spend half of the day. It is a reconstruction of how an old Swedish town would work. The Coffeehouses are full of traditional food and puddings. Free wi-fi in the area

We didn't spend much time, but it was pretty. I think they do exercise classes. Also loved that the planter had kale in it.

The castle is situated in the center of Linkoping. The oldest part of the building is dated 1150. The Linkoping Castle- & Cathedral museum tells the story about a medieval Bishop’s stronghold that was turned into a castle. The treasury chamber in the castle holds unique silver and textiles from the Middle Ages and onwards. Every year we have new, occasional Exhibitions with medieval theme. The museum is also accessible for disabled. Guided groups by prior arrangement at all times. We have guided tours every saturday at 11.00. During summer we have one guided tour every day at 11.00.

The "castle" was closed, lots of kinds around using the WiFi spot, so i cant comment on the content of the museum, but for what i saw...small building, large disappointment. I was expecting a large building that fit in the "Castle" description, but this is just another average building. I passed by it twice without even knowing this is "it".
I couldn't even get in the back garden, nobody around to ask questions, just kids on their phones, lots of them.
I felt sorry for wasting my time till I discovered the old town, Gamla Linkoping Open-Air Museum, then I got happy again :) see that review.

As a kid I loved it, and kids nowadays love it too. Especially those rainy days. It is a big indoor playarea. It costs 120kr per child for a whole day(as of dec 2012) and adults and babies(<1) goes in for free. It is great if you are visiting Linköping with younger children.
