Only a about 15km from Leonidio and worth the winding road through really beautiful and unspoilt country. The monastery is easily accessible as you can drive very close and from the entrance to the chapel is only a few hundred metres and not too many stairs. The monastery is peaceful and unreal in a way - the views, well they make you think of the wonder of this world.

I walked all the way from Leonidio to Saint Nicholas. At the beginning it was tiring and tough. After the half distance I felt my legs get lighter. When I finally had eye contact to the monastery, I felt that Saint Nicholas was pulling me up…
The feeling is indescribable. From up there you can see the whole area from high.

Eucalyptus has been the milestone bar at the port of Plaka in Leonidio since the early 80's. As of May 2014 Eucalyptus has been fully renovated and constructed to meet the modern trend of nightclubs and bars you meet in Athens and major cities.
Eukalyptus bar is a "nest" in Leonidio/South Peloponese where kind and qualified people do their best to satisfy me :)
I 've enjoyed an excellent coffee every morning during my holidays, Reading my book and listening to soft music.
At the night time, the bar changes to a full of good energy place where I enjoyed pure drinks (that' s realy important!) I will be back! I will invite all my friends!

Walk 4 Fun was recommend by my friends who had gone on a 8 hour hike with Sarantos a month before we visited Leonidio. My wife and I meet Sarantos at his shop in the center of Leonidio and he suggested we go for a day hike on an ancient greek walk way and look at the natural plants (medicinal herbs, flowers and trees), and look for turtles and butterflies. His english was great and his knowledge of the area fantastic. It was one of our most memorable days while travelling Greece.
