This is a memorial of the famous war events. If you miss it, you may not lost some thing important. Big space and symbolic exhibition are not teaching, not emotional

This is a classic orthodox monastery - a few churches, some residence buildings for monks and pilgrims and so on. In terms of architecture the monastery is quite simple. The impressive fact is that the main buildings were destroyed in the Soviet period and were restored in 1990-2000s.
There is a spring of holy water sanctified by the icon of the Virgin Mary that miraculously appeared there.
The surrounding nature is gorgeous. The view from the top of the hill (close to the entrance) is stunning. The river is very clean and full of fish.
The fact that it is a monastery is a bit disturbing though as Russian church is characterised by a somewhat strange dress-code - women are supposed to wear only skirts or dresses and to cover their head. If you are not dressed "properly" you'd better avoid going into church as it is likely that you will hear a dissapproving remark from the church staff. Nevertheless, the monastery is worth a visit.

Came on a short trip to Kursk from Moscow to visit some friends who are studying here. I could not enter due to time constrain but however it is a beautiful Cathedral even from the outside. Take pictures of it especially around 3pm and the sun will give you a wonderful background.

The Church is located in the centre of the city. People usually notice the reflection of the Church in the plateglass facade of the nearby bank.
It is very beautiful outside and inside. The interior paintings of the beginning of the XXth century were made by an icon painter from Moscow - Nicolai Epanechnikov on the basis of the scetches by the famous Russian artist Victor Vasnetsov.
There are many holy relics in the Church, including those of St. John Chrysostom, St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, St. Andrew, the Apostle, St. Seraphim of Sarov, etc.
Whether you visit the Church to pray of to marvel at the architecture and interior design, you'll enjoy it.

Неописуемой красоты собор на два этажа. Золотые купола. Собор очень красив как снаружи так и внутри. Внутри очень много икон и фресок. Своя ухоженная территория с цветами и деревьями. Недалеко от центра. Приятных путешествий.

I ay be biased, because I love to see the historical museums, including the provincial. IN this one you may not find gems, but good exhibition is teaching and some local objects of interests are presented.

It's one of finest drama theater in Russia I guess. They've designed it as according to Bolshoi theater in Moscow. This is a historic enormous theater. I was lucky enough to performed a cultural event here as a student of Kursk State Medical University.
