This peak looks close by and easy. We started climbing at 5.15 in the morning, took me until 7 to go up, a really, really heavy ordeal!!! Well, then the feeling is exhilarating, beautiful, happy, shiny, but to get to it, I was struggling to summon my powers and breath almost at every third or fourth step, especially in the last 1/3d of the ascend. The weather was mild and clear, very good visibility, anyways, take some good clothes with you (nothing else but some hot water flask, otherwise it freezes!) as it is cold up there.

This museum shows a fascinating history of the Kirati people, Namche itself, and displays a large collection of traditional tools and houseware. Also part of the museum is an exhibit dedicated to the expeditions, their history, equipment used, etc. The museum is also part of a hotel & restaurant, so you can grab a bite to eat if need be, though I haven't tried it.

The memorials enroute to EBC can be found after leaving Lobuche and heading to Gorak Shep. There are tens of memorials besides that dedicated to Scott Fischer. Take a break here and wander through the memorials, Reading them and appreciating the inspiring climbs and losses that have occurred in this region. Beautiful memorials.

A compact mountain settlement where an afternoon can be well spent at the Machermo Sherpa Rescue Post learning about AMS ( acute mountain sickness). Run by vollenteers from the UK. Also nice walks up the valley to the waterfall at its head.
