Island of Kekova

Reviewed By TomasF16 - Prague, Czech Republic

We have paddled alongside the island and stopped for short swimming and snorkeling.
It is quite remote place, not so many tourists could be seen here. If so, the most people are coming on boat trips, kayak trips etc. Sunken city on the island, which probably had in a past the name Dolichiste, is the main attraction of the Kekova island. This island is uninhabited.

Sunken City Ruins of Simena

Reviewed By ABEONAS - Folkestone, United Kingdom

Disappointed really not much to see. Kaya Koy on land has much more to offer. The guide found some pieces of amphora on the bottom whilst in the area you CAN swim in which was the high light of the day. We travelled 3 hours 45 minutes to get to the boat from Hisaronu. Kekova village is delightful , the guide was very good on Kordon 4 boat. A long day for very little to see after the hype of a Sunken city.

We had such a perfect and memorable day, thanks to Captain Mevlut. Been to the best places, eaten the best food, had a lot of fun. Looking forward to come back next year!

Mevlana Kekova, Myra, Boat Tour

If you like boats, mystery and history, then a day-long combined boat/bus trip to Kekova is just the thing for you. Many bays and tiny Islands line the green coastline that leads to Kekova. From the boat you can explore the Sunken City Apollonia, destroyed in an earthquake in fourth century BC. Marvel at the Lycian tombs carved into the mountain. On land visit the St. Nicholas Church (Father Christmas) and Kaleköy castle.

If you are travelling around the Mediterranean sea and Antalya, you should definitely take one these boat trips starting from Demre which is around 2,5 hour from Antalya city. But try to choose a boat with the glass bottom so that you can see the bottom od the sea while cruising. If you are around 10-15, I advise you to hire a boat for yourselves for a day. So, you can have your lunch and drinks on the boat and you can stop anywhere you like and swim.

Ankh Cafe & Pansion

Reviewed By Roodeberglodge - Alton, United Kingdom

Recommended to us by the Captain on our gullet - Ank is on many levels, from the waterside (where there's a range of sun loungers), up several levels where there are tables for the café and then finally pension rooms.
I'm afraid I really can't comment on the pension or indeed the wider range of the menu - they offer blissful home made ice cream in three flavours, hazelnut, peach - and I can't recall the last one!
It has a lovely shady open air café overlooking the bay

Gonul Kusu 2

Reviewed By Saule K

We have stated in Kalkan and booked a boat trip in Kekova. A captan of our boat Hussein was very friendly and supportive. The boat was not big and it was an advantage as there were not too many people. The majority of the guests were locals and for us it was a good sign. Lunch was simple but tasty, there were some stops for swimming at beautiful locations. I loved every moment of this trip and hope to have it again.

Sanis Boat

Have been going back to Sanis boat time after time and have never been disappointed. Murat and Songul are fantastic hosts. The food is top end restaurant standard and always surprises me how its produced in such a small kitchen. The best way to send a relaxing day.
