The church is definitely worth a visit even though it is not easy to get in without planning ahead. You can either call the clergyman who is in charge of the church or arrange a guided tour (minimum 10 people) - not sure he speaks English but definitely speaks Polish and Czech.
Or you can visit on Sunday morning from 9:00 when at 9:30 there is a service (taking turns in Czech and Polish) - there are also some other days of services like Easter Monday etc.

Cieszyn has a lot to offer, it is old town in Poland ruins from XI century, including tower and hunting castle
A strategic hill with medieval ruins and high trees providing shelter against wind. Different shades of green and no doubt wonderful in autumn. Occasionally nice views on the hills, city and Olza river. History cloaked in mystery. Very pleasant romantic ambiance.

This is a very beautiful and old Neo-Gothic three-aisled church. This impressive church is the most imposing building of the town. An important characteristic of the church is the long and wide stair leading up to it. The stair has four stone life-size statues of St. Joseph, St. Benedict, St. John of Nepomuk and St. Hedwig on decorated pedestals. Fine stone work. The church was damaged by extensive coal mining in the town and the surroundings, and renovation work began in the 1990s and still continues. The place is quiet and well kept. It's located adjacent to a park. Originally, the park belonged to a castle, but because of the undermining, sadly it was demolished in 1974. The City Hall is located close by as well. All in all, worth a visit. Recomended.

What makes this swimpool exemptional is the possibility to do some outdoor swimming in winter. The outdoor pool is directly connected with the indoor pool (the relaxing part) and there is some countertorrent, which makes swimming more fun. It can get a bit crowdy sometimes.

Not as exurberant as similar city squares in Poland, but still all right with an early 19th century Ratusz and houses from the times of Franz Jozef 'Der Kaiser' of Habsburg Austria. The rynek is located high enough to prevent it from being flooded by the Olza river. So you would have to walk up a bit and take your reward: coffee with cake, or what most people take: beer on one of the many terraces.

Lovely zoo, with animals that are clearly well cared for. Nice break from the tourists and easy to get there on the bus. Clouded leopards were amazing. Also, you can just get a beer and walk around with it. That is pretty neat. First time I ever saw a honey badger live and in person.

It is a short walk from the city center and you reach the Castle hill where several historical buildings show the historical heart of the city. Piastowska tower is one of them, The hill itself and its neighbourhood is a lovely place to walk, look around and relax. It is possible to climb the tower and get a great view over the city and wide sorroundings.

At 86 meters, the tower offers sweeping views of the Ostrava basin, the Mountains of Beskydv to the south, the Jesenisky Mountains to the west and the Upper Silesian plateau to the east.
A very accessible tower - I don't recall many other viewing platforms or towers where you don't need to climb even a single stair. This is such a tower - from the entrance hall of the city hall, you take one lift to the 6th floor, where there's a tourist information office, and from there you take another lift to the viewing platform. Extremely comfortable.
And of course, it's totally worth it, Ostrava has its own very special landmarks, and it's a curious experience to check those out from a high angle, too.
