Lovely place, surrounded with historical churches and parks. The building itself has a history to it. If you have a local friend who is knowledgeable about the city's history and architecture, like we had, it will be more fun walking around this place, picking a restaurant and savouring the tasty food while soaking into the history of the place.

Worth visit for a while, the Cathedral is nice example of late baroque architecture. Inside, however, it is too clean and fresh to make an impression of antiquity. Well, it is working Cathedral serving local community every day, and can not look as museums do. Pay your attention to ceilings, and better rent professional guide for visit during idle time.

Nice quiet walking area with some historical remains and cafes. It is rather a "thing if not to do", but offers more relaxed atmosphere than busy and noisy Stometrivka, being some 10 minutes walk away

To avoid misunderstanding, the correct name should be Museum of Ciscarpathian Art (Ivano-Frankivsk region is often referred to as Sub- or Ciscarpathian in Ukraine, as opposite one to Transcarpathian)
The building itself it interesting example of late medieval architecture. Unavoidable if you visit old city center.
Inside is collection of original folk costumes and art, several are very precious (including logger's bag on which many modern famous designs are based). Noteworthy collection of examples of folk, baroque and roccoco religious artpieces. Painting collection exhibits mainly local masters, or famous (in circles of artists) pieces on local themes. It is enough to say, there are (live) portraits of guys depicted on 5UAH and 20UAH banknotes.
Temporary Exhibitions vary from gravures of regional historical monuments to abstractionist paintings.
Taking into account the price (roughly 0,35EUR) the museum is absolute must.
