This small zoo is a surprising attraction in a mountain area and a great pastime for families with children. You will be surprised to find also exotic animals in this village setting, including emus, pelicans, flamingoes and kangaroos - if you are lucky these will be hopping merrily in their pen. Count two hours for this visit.

We got the post bus from Soll to Kufstein (€1.40 each way if bought from tourist info in advance rather than €5.40 on bus) and then walked the historic trail around the Fortress - best bit is the "wine alley" at the beginning.
We then went to the fortress and took the "cable car"which was really a lift up to the top. If you like Castles then this is a fascinating experience with all sorts of hidden gems - especially the museum which is deceptively large, and don't miss the walk underneath the rocks through the fortress.
If you are there at noon then you can also hear the organ being played throughout the fortress - excerpts from Phantom of the Opera when we were there.
All in all we spent around 3 hours here (including a drink in the courtyard cafe listening to the organ) and would strongly recommend it

Alpine Slide at Walchsee (47°38'17.01"N 12°17'15.12) is located about 90Km from Munich (1h 40min by car). It is midway between Zell am See and Munich, so it is good stop point to stop for an hour before continue the drive. You take the chairlift upward and then descent downward in one of two “1 km Long” curved tracks. While it is thrilling slide, it looks safe enough and it will be fun for everybody in the family. Walchsee is a nice place to visit with a number of hotels and dining options. The lake itself is beautiful.

15 minutes up the German alone road is the waterfall , which is then a ten minute walk from the car park. I would say the gorge at Kiersfelden is better but its still a nice little waterfall in the Mountains . Plenty of good hiring and Alms nearby on the Sudelfeld Mountains (approx 10 mins away)

We visited the Hintersteinersee on a warm sunny Sunday. We arrived by the free Seebus from Scheffau and stopped for a beer at the lido and just enjoyed the view. There were a number of people swimming, playing football and soaking up the sun. We continued on the open side of the lake and leisurely walked around the other side of the lake and again stopped for another drink and soaked up the view. The path is very easy to walk and was a little bit busy with traffic. The walk around the other side of the lake is through the trees and therefore no motor vehicles which was very pleasant and a little light relief from the heat of the sun. This walk can be enjoyed by everyone although there are a few steep parts through the trees. You will not be disappointed.

Super Qualität, Bergkäse, Frischkäse in Öl, Emmentaler top Geschmack.
Für Käseknödel ideal verpackter geraspelter Käse.
Sehr nettes Personal, kompetent.
Ein Vorzeigebetrieb. Note 1*

There is a summer sledge in Oberaudorf, South Germany. Excellent fun for no effort. We bought a ticket for 6 lift journeys and 3 rides each for about 28 euros (not exactly cheap but worth it). You can control the speed yourself, but don't go too fast. I decided not to break at the indicated areas and fell out of the sledge (not out of the lane). Luckily nobody was close behind me. I opted for breaking a few times on the third run.
