Access to the tall ships is very controlled and as we were guests of a company it was necessary to have a parking permit for the taxi to get in. Many people were on foot and probably had to park some distance away. The atmosphere was great and it was a superb evening on Friday 1 July apart from the rain! Many tall ships were in the harbour and it was a fun event.

A nice, bit old fashioned aquarium/museum that has fish ... and other fish ... and molluscs ... and clams ... and boat models, sonar/radar mock ups. Friendly staff, some interesting stuff. Good enough for about two hours of mildly exciting entertainment on a rainy afternoon.

This is a small harbourvillage with nice looks over the Dollard (Waddenzee). Iff you like fish; thera are two restaurants where fresh fish is served. Since end 2012 there is also a Steakhouse.

We were in Delfzijl to visit family & were pleasantly surprised that this historic wind mill is located in the centre of town. We were also fortunate to arrive during the coronation of the new King & enjoyed the party like atmosphere!! This historic structure is part of weekly local markets & gathering place for special occasions. You can also walk short distance to the local restaurants & bars to enjoy the Dutch cuisine.
