I'm not sure where the falls have actually gone if they were simply very low when we visited. The loch is very pretty and well worth a visit, although it is more tranquil than in any sense dramatic. The bridge itself would rate in a competition for the ugliest in Scotland (a land of many splendid bridges).

An interactive Falconry company, which champions raptor conservation through education and engagement, utilising the power, beauty and grace of birds of prey, providing the following: Hawk Walks; Hawk Walks +; Falconry Experiences; Flying and Static Displays; Educational Talks; Hawking; Photographic Workshops and Courses. Set in the ruggedly, beautiful Argyll countryside.
In July 2017 myself, wife and two daughters did the full experience at the centre. Including the introduction of the various hawks, falcons and owls, correct handling, passing the birds to each other and some basic terminology. Nothing in too much detail as to become...MoreThank you very much for such a great review. I think you've captured what I try to achieve with my Falconry Experiences, which I'm so pleased about. Hopefully, see you all again. Best regards, Paul.

This is a peaceful and evocative historic place made even more magical by the picturesque backdrop of Ben Cruachan and Loch Etive. It is perhaps surprising that so little has been done to guide visitors around the site. Historic Scotland could do so much more with this wonderful location, and a little tea room or visitors' centre could surely be incorporated unobtrusively while helping to educate the curious.

We were pressed for time, and still took ten minutes just staring at the castle. An incredible view, to say the least, and I will make plans to visit it when next I visit Scotland again. It looked so imposing we were talking about for hours after seeing it.

A very good and lively tour at Oban with a guide who exhibited both tons of knowledge and tons of dry humor. Two drams to taste are included - one at the counter, and one "to go" within the souvenir glass.

Take a day trip from Oban and visit the Inner Hebridean Islands of Mull, Coll, Tiree or Iona. Go a little further, take a trip north to the Outer Hebrides or south to the island of Colonsay.
Went from oban to mull on the ferry. Everything went smoothly with friendly staff from buying the tickets throughout the whole journey. Lots of refreshments onboard with a little gift shop and a cafe. It was a very windy day in February but we went to the top deck and was surprised that it wasn’t as cold as we thought it may be. I would definitely travel with these again :)

We were in Oban for only one day as a cruise day in port. We were interested in seeing the Cruachan Power Station (why not visit a power station when you are are in the West Highlands??). We no public transport the Power Station folks suggestion Lord Gray. I am so glad they did. We spent 10 hours with Andrew. and it was a highlight of our cruise. We had emailed prior to our arrival so he had a tentative itinerary in mind built around our power station tour but of course was very agreeable about making changes as we went. He met us as planned at their pier. We feel not only did we get a good overview of the area. Scenery, a stop at a great tea shop for scones, sports of historic significance, neolithic monuments, and many off the beaten path sights. We also visited Inverary Castle and as Lord Gray knows the Duke of Argyll he was able to explain about the house, the portraits and other items in the house. We have been to many Castles and weren't quite sure about spending time doing another one, but this tour gave us real insights into the castle. Andrew is very agreeable, easy-going and knowledgeable. The 10 hours flew by and we felt it was the best shore excursion of our cruise. We highly recommend his services.

If you are interested in history this is a great little place to visit for an hour and see the personal experiences of local citizens, exhibits, artifacts. Don't forget to ask questions and talk to the dedicated volunteers who man this little history museum. I always stop in to see whats new.
