The Hole in the Wall is a site that must be visited once in your life. Awesome spot and a great place to spend a day swimming and picnicking. The "guide" that perster you are a bit od a problem but not really needed..

Spectacular Wild CoastHluleka Nature Reserve lies along the ancient magic Wild Coast within the Eastern Cape, South Africa. This Nature Reserve is a diverse ecosystem, combining lush indigenous Forests, beautiful rocky coastline, unspoilt Beaches and rolling grassland.
Absolutely idyllic location with lush, thick green Forests and the most beautiful swimming beach. The water was clear and warm and we swam a lot - there were lifeguards on duty (only over Dec/Jan I think). The chalets are the greatest surprise: well kitted out with everything you need. TV, if you are so inclined. More plug points than my home! Hot water showers, comfortable couches. Kitchen more than adequate. Braai facilities. A great place to walk and chill. Don't know whether I would try getting there in my sedan and borrowed a 2x4 with good clearance. Also if it rains, the roads can turn to muck quite quickly, so didn't think it worth risk.
Will keep going back again and again...

Just 10 minutes from St Johns.
Nice, clean, well- run park with accomodation.
Accomodation is basic but comfortable.
Lovely forested views. The park is mostly indigenous forest, with pleasant walk ways and a stretch of beach.
Nice team, friendly service. Worth a night or two's stay. No more.
Excellent bird watching!!

Offshore Africa Port St John's is the only operator of its' kind situated along the Transkei Wild Coast, South Africa. We specialize in the annual sardine run during June/July and also offer a variety of ocean & river tours throughout the year.
Rob and Debbie are quite simply two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. Probably of more importance to most people Reading this, their operation is great; pretty sure they're the only operator in Port St John's who allow single-day guests on the sardine run, so if you don't want to spend big bucks doing 5 days+ they're a must; they are probably the cheapest operator in Port St John's; and are one of the few who are based in the town as opposed to just heading down for the sardine run, which no doubt also pays off. Rob puts in sooo much effort on the boat to ensure he maximises every opportunity and that everyone has a good time, he knows the animals' behaviour inside out so can judge opportunities perfectly, and his dive leader Vez is great too. All-round impressed and grateful, thank you guys :)

Jimmy is a genius! His shop is gorgeously set up with original pieces that he himself screen prints and designs. The store itself is an experience. Inside you will find the Village Cafe - their coffee is R10 (dirt cheap) and is thee most delicious filter coffee in all of coffee bay. I loved relaxing in Jimmy's store and buying some beautiful shirts to take home!

We went to Dweza for the purpose of hiking the coast north to The Haven, Mbashe and then south to Kob Inn. We stayed overnight at the campsite. It is a clean and neat place behind a dune, which made it a bit hot and air-less. You have to be very careful of the monkeys. Turn your back on them for a second and they will have your food in a thrice. Real pests they are. There is a nice Beach, not big though. No fishing allowed as it is a marine reserve but about a kilometer along the coast the reserve ends and there are good spots for fishing. Not that we caught anything...
Getting to Dwesa is quite a drive - the roads in the Transkei are really bad so 45km/hour is about the average speed limit. It feels like it takes forever.
The hike to Mbashe mouth is about 12km - quite far but we got there and back in a day. A lovely hike with long Beaches and not many hills.
The hike to Kob Inn was really long but well worth it. 22km each way. We spent the night at Kob Inn before walking back. Beautiful Beaches and river mouths to cross which made it a bit of an adventure.

A visit to the local spa at the Hole in the wall hotel, was enjoyable with basic facilities. Could do with some deep cleaning if the facility. Staff friendly and accommodating. Averaged priced.
