This church is very unique and is done by Giovanni Michelucci. The interior is great and is situated next to the highway. The church is dedicated to all the workers affected by the construction of the highway. It was a really mesmerizing experience.

Ceramiche Borgioli

In our little workshop, in the heart of Tuscany, up till today, we produce artistic ceramic, respecting the old tradition of Florentine Renaissance. Our processing technique is the same of hundred years ago. Pieces are never the same: each creation has its own mark and personality. Our master craftsmen realize their own shapes combining that ones with the most suitable decorations.

The village of Calenzano Alto is truly picturesque, still surrounded by medieval walls, quiet, tiny and neat. You can walk in ten minutes from the parking outside the walls through the entire village. If you're interested in tin soldiers and history, there is this cute private museum (free of charge) next to one of the towers on what must be "main street" devoted to tin soldiers of all sizes (some really tiny) depicting battle dresses and gear going all the way back to the Etruscans. One room is devoted to WWII with some original weaponry and uniforms, also some battlefield reliques from WWI, and incredibly well reproduced soldiers' attire on the tiny tin critters. Having had tin soldiers myself about 70 years ago, I suddenly felt so much younger...

I left here here at 7.00 at night and found there are almost no buses for going back to my hotel near Florence station, at night. After 2 hours waiting a bus came and it terminated after going 3-4 km. there we waited another 01 hour for a bus and it also transferred us to another one at 11.30 at night to reach Florence. 10 km journey therefore took 4 and half hours to reach town from here. Do not rely on public buses at night.
