Beautiful 8-room boutique hotel with vintage Mexican decor set in a vast lot. There's a lake, private outdoor jacuzzis, the original hacienda building with a church, and long paths through the hills. The main attraction, though, is the horses. You can go horse-riding, take lessons, and help bathe them in the mornings. They also have shows on Saturdays. They also showed us the hostel (still not open as of 11/04/17) where they'll rent out beds for the night in shared rooms. The cool thing about it is that it is right above the stables (they already have the horses there, and everything was impeccable). Finally, the restaurant serves Mexican/international fare. Quite good. I definitely recommend the place for a day trip or a weekend stay.

What’s with the ridiculous plastic cups sales? Every time you order a glass of bubbles they charge you for a plastic cup, even if you’ve already purchased a cup, even if you brought your own glasses (my case - I need a real glass to be fair in my assessment of a wine). Is this wine Disneyland or a serious producer? It’s nice that they sell their products by the glass for almost all wines, but the concept certainly isn’t designed for an educated wine tasting but more like to get wasted at their tables.

The town of San Sebastián Bernal is best known for being located at the foot of one of the largest monoliths in the world: la Peña de Bernal.
The town itself offers very nice surprises while walking through its streets: from colonial architecture (El Castillo, Parish of St. Sebastian), museums (Museo de la Máscara, Museo Rosalío Solano), to living examples of outstanding religious syncretism, uniting the pre-Hispanic cults and the Christianity.
But undoubtedly the main attraction is the monolith, which is said to be the third largest in the world, just after the Pão de Açúcar in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Rock of Gibraltar. The hight of La Peña varies depending on the source (288, 350 or 433 m?), but in what there is no variation is in its climbing, a real challenge which is best to undertake in the early hours of the day to avoid high temperatures and enjoy of the view once you reach the top, or at least almost... (the last 45m approx. are to be climbed with equipment which you may rent from different suppliers in the town).
Primitive dances in the atrium of the Parish, religious processions and excellent food and drinks in different restaurants and bars complete the unforgettable visit to this lovely town in the municipality of Ezequiel Montes, Querétaro, México.

A premier location and exposition of native plants, especially cacti. Well organized with each species tagged and groomed to enhance the best features of the plant. Walking paths leading to a mirador for an overlook of the surrounding area and overlooking the Gardens. A pleasant teaching/learning environment; a national treasure.

Impressive ruins of culture Pame, in very good state of preservation. It was the center of development of civilization Pame. The first settlers of Olmec origin. Later influences from Teotihuacan. Both cities were built on top of the Mountains. same as were reduced to form platforms. It was thus able to build roads, courts of juego de pelota and sacred buildings on top of the Mountains. From Ranas and Toluquilla, overlooking the territory around 10 miles.

This is a review of the restaurant. The place tries to hard to be a fancy restaurant and fails miserably. The kitchen clearly doesn't know what it is doing. Food took forever, came in drips (some people were finished before others had started) and some dishes came cold. My son ordered a rib eye which was 50% fat and veins. To be fair some of the dishes were well executed (especially the starters) but in general quality was inconsistent. The bill came out to 10,500 pesos for 8 adults and two small children - this for Mexico (and especially outside of CDMX) is outrageous.
The front staff tries hard but this is beyond them. The wine they sell is actually good. The setting (facility, grounds, views) is beautiful.

the claim to fame of Bernal is la Pena, one of the biggest monolith rocks in the world. It's a steep hike but very popular. The town itself is buzzing with tourists and there are little shops and restaurants everywhere. Definitely worth a visit. .

We went today and enjoyed the Gardens. Several coy ponds throughout, hundreds of types of plants and trees, and fresh air made this a lovely experience. I enjoyed the rose garden and the orchid greenhouse. There weren't as many orchids as we'd hoped for, but it was nice.
