Babruysk, Babrujsk, or Bobruisk (Belarusian: Бабру́йск, Łacinka: Babrujsk, Russian: Бобру́йск, Polish: Bobrujsk, Yiddish: באברויסק) is a city in the Mogilev Region of eastern Belarus on the Berezina river. It is a large city in Belarus. As of 2009, its population was 215,092. The name Babruysk (as well as that of the Babruyka River) probably originates from the Belarusian word babyor (бабёр; beaver), many of which used to inhabit the Berezina. However, beavers in the area had been almost eliminated by the end of the 19th century due to hunting and pollution.

After completion of Ice palace construction it became possible to some buildings of fortress without broken legs and dirty shoes. I visit Bobruisk quite often, and it's sad to see how the fortress is falling apart.
There are really beautiful bastions which could be great touristic attraction if being invested. Anyway if you are in Bobruisk, spent 30 minutes to walk around.

A really interesting place worth arriving. There are many good cafes around and worth getting into. It is worth walking on foot to Lenin Square. Or take a bus to a senior

Today we will all be son's of Lieutenant Schmidt .
The statue is a great likeness of Leonid Kuravlyov' character from the book and film Shura Balaganov.
To help the famous sons divide up the cash of the gullible party members , there is a finger post at the round junction that points to many major cities in the world.
On the wall near to the life size statue of the lovable rogue Shura Balaganov there is a plaque on the wall. that is a quote from the book ( not the film) translated into English this reads
"You think I'm stupid!" shrieked Panikovsky. "Give me Central Russia, then I'll sign the pact."
"What?
The entire Center?" mocked Balaganov. "Would you also like Melitopol on top of that?
Or Bobruisk?"
At the word Bobruisk, the children moaned painfully.
Everyone was prepared to go to Bobruisk immediately.
Bobruisk was considered a wonderful, highly civilized place.

I would have gone out of my way but as it is only 1 block from St Nicolas its not really a big diversion to see the statue of a famous son of the town director Efraim Sevela.
The cinema look rather a nice inviting building too.

This odd shaped building does have a certain charm to it. Its not far off your route if you are heading for the red tower restaurant.
A remarkable shade of green too, not many buildings can carry this colour off but this old 'un does it well.
A uniquely charming building
