While the tomb of bang karno was interesting to see, the sellers and market stall on the way out are an absolute nightmare. Seemingly kms of souvenirs and tacky junk for sale thru narrow stifling hot aisles was not a nice experience at all

At the time, the house where Bung Karno, his sister (Ibu Wardoyo) and his parents lived was probably of a noble/highly respected family. Today, the house looks humble, but well-maintained (clean and tidy). Some people said, the condition today is relatively descent if compared to the situation during Suharto's era.
The house compiles some memories of Bung Karno and family. The furniture is also clean and well maintained. Some photos of Bung Karno, his only sister (Ibu Wardoyo), his parents, and several of his children from the first lady (Ibu Fatmawati) were hung on the walls - this takes the visitors to valuable history of the country.
Photos of the first lady (Ibu Fatmawati), Ibu Inggit (the first wife of Bung Karno) and SOME children of Bung Karno were also there. I said 'some' because not all of his children's photos were there. The photos of Ibu Megawati dominated the walls, but the photo of Ibu Rakhmawati was not present. No clear explanation from the house's staff.
Everyday, many domestic travelers came to visit the house. Our memory was refreshed... :-)
At the rear part of the house, a small kiosk sells souvenirs (i.e. snacks and traditional food from the city of Blitar). We were a bit surprised when knowing the price, because they were much lower compared to vendors in traditional markets and regular shops in the city (We were shopping in a market and several regular shops in the city before coming down to the house). The quality of the food is also good (they are fresh). It is indeed a good opportunity to buy some traditional snacks and food in the kiosk.

Here, you can feel the sensation in the Karanganyar Coffee Plantation which is also known as “the Dutch Village”. Not only known for coffee education, this place also offers cultural-tourism with its Blitar culture museum. And don’t forget to taste the original coffee of Blitar at O.G. Cafe while enjoying the oldies music of the independence era. In addition, we offer some small outdoor activities
Keboen Kopi Karanganyar is a definitely place which you should not missed when you will be in East Java and especially around Blitar. Coffee plantation has many things to offer from learning about coffee, history and culture of Blitar in the little museums, renting a motorbike or jeep and go around the coffee plantation, you can also try to wear traditional dutch costume, go for a walk with siberian dogs but what is the most important - you will have a chance to try one of the most delicious coffees in Indonesia! Moreover this place has an incredible and friendly atmosphere, it is really worth a visit.

Java's Beaches are generally a disappointment, so we did not have great expectations for our trip here from the swelteringly hot country town of Blitar. In the end, we were pleasantly surprised.
The road here from Blitar goes up into the hills and winds around through some remnant forest and some interesting rocky gorges. The land here is not too fertile so the region has been spared the over-development which has ruined many parts of the island. We recommend coming on a motorbike as this really allows you to take your time and enjoy the scenery. (You can even stop off at the ruined temple of Candi Simping.)
The beach itself is set on an attractive piece of coast with a large headland, a small lagoon and clear, blue water. There are just a few wooden houses and a couple of food stalls along the beach; it is quiet and peaceful place with fantastic views of the Indian Ocean. Combine this with a visit to the ruins at Penataran and this corner of Java might be an off-the-beaten-track highlight of your trip to the island.

Alun Alun Blitar
As the name suggests Alun Alun Blitar is the square in the middle the city. An open parkland with grass lawn areas and a wide central concrete path. There is also a couple of open-air pavilions and a motorbike park at the back of the square. The park is used a lot by families with vendors selling toys, snacks and renting out small electric vehicles that the kids ride on. Particularly on a warm fine evening many families flock to the area and it is quite a sight as the many little vehicles are lit up with colourful LEDs.
What attracted my wife and I to the square on our recent stay in Blitar was the many street-food vendors surrounding the park. In Blitar it is difficult to categorise food as anything but street-food, as what the tourist might call a restaurant, as found in larger cities and Western countries, is pretty rare in Blitar. Much more common are street vendors cooking from handcarts, or temporary footpath kitchens with a couple of trestle tables and Seating for just a few sit-down customers at a time.
Here are a few of the dishes we enjoyed from the Street vendors around Alun Alun Blitar:
Bakso - this dish was advertised at street vendors and warungs everywhere and I would suggest must be the signature dish of Blitar food. We had various forms of Bakso from a range of vendors, but what was common to every dish, was that it was a bowl of tasty broth, with meatballs in it.
Also available with every Bakso dish, was a range of sauces including, but not limited to, sweet soy, ketchup and chilli sauce. One of my favourite bakso dishes had boiled meatballs in the broth and a side dish of crispy fried meatballs as well.
Batagor - this dish consisted of a bowl of fried tofu that was served with a choice of either peanut sauce or soya bean sauce.
Molen - is a tasty sweet snack which is fried banana in a crispy batter or casing similar to a spring roll.
Bek Bek - this was one of our personal favourites and is a dish of duck. The way it was served at the street vendors where we ate, was the fried leg and thigh piece of a duck served with minimal vegetables and steamed rice. The duck is crisp on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside, and best enjoyed as the locals do it by tearing apart and eating with your fingers. Delicious for dinner!
Crêpes- particularly at night around the square, vendors sell sweet dishes, coffee and hot ginger tea. One of our favourite sweet dishes was crispy chocolate crêpes from a lovely young couple with a handcart usually just around the corner in Jl Mastrip.
So if you are in Blitar and looking to experience the local food you will find no better place than Alun Alun Blitar with its many friendly street vendors. You can then enjoy the relaxing open parkland of the square while the kids enjoy the rides, the toys and the snacks.

This beach is very beautiful... but a few people know about it.
You can play sands and wave...also swimming in the river (plain water not salty!) and riding a wooden boat. Very exciting! Kids will very like it! very very recommended!
The view is awesome....
After your car park, you will find goat or cow inside the cage.
Near this area there is a beautiful valley with rice and corn feed.
If you want to teach your kids about nature ...just go there
In the beach/river area there are a bath room...don't worry its clean enough.
Hungry? many small depot there are sell fish barbeque, the taste is standard but the fish is fresh.
From Blitar city, go to the 'Kademangan'.. get in Kademangan area (the is a bridge), find the signage to Tambak Beach first(the area near Tambak Beach), until you find the next signage to Pantai Pangi
Its about 1 hr from Blitar city
