Actually, this town is divided by the main road, not train tracks. Driving through, or stopping east of the divide, you'd never suspect how charming the old section is. It's extensive enough for a pleasant stroll, although most of the attractions were closed at the time of my visit. The church is from the early 20th century--not historic by Spanish standards, but still quite attractive and worth a visit. Nice views to both east and west.

Whilst this church is truly imposing it's set in an area with complementary flora and Seating as well as a number of bars/cafes/restaurants.
Benissa is well worth visiting not just to see the church and surrounds but also to visit the old town (casco antiguo). Try it and see - just 1 mile from the local train/tram stop which runs every hour between Alicante & Denia and is fantastically cheap !!

Visited during the summer and had a late lunch out on the Terrace.
Loved the decor but loved the food even better !
Attention to detail was brilliant. The small squid were especially cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious and clean plates were the result.
The prices were modest considering the quality of the food.
A return trip is a must.

Our page is about art and decoration . We create and expose sculptures and decoration made from different products, like resin , plaster, metal .
This guy is a true artist. His work is absolutely amazing, I just wish I knew an international gallery owner. His gallery is on the road out of Benissa heading south, not in the centre as google maps told us. Very much worth tracking down if you have a space crying out for real art.

The tennis school Creative Tennis, with Head Coach Jan Kindtner, offers throughout the whole year tennis lessons in the Club de Tenis Benissa. In a charming location, between Calpe, Benissa, Moraira and Javea, tourists, overwinterers and residents here find themselves in the best circumstances to improve their tennis.
My whole family has had classes with Jan for about 9 years now. There's never a dull moment and he has taken me from total beginning to playing with club team players. I play several times a week now thanks to his patient encouragement. I still have a shared class with him and friends and its always a lot of fun.
My children are still keen tennis players as near teens thanks to Jan's enthusiasm. He has had a positive and steady influence on them.
I can't recommend Jan's tennis coaching enough for adults and children.

This square represents, to me at least, an ideal place to stop and rest awhile whilst taking in / exploring the delights on offer in the Benissa Old Town (casco antiguo). If you want to maximise your coverage pop over to the tourist information office (located on the main road the runs through Benissa – it’s well signed) and obtain from them a copy of the casco antiguo map – FREE – which will then allow you not only to cover the whole of the relevant area in a surprisingly pretty part of Benissa town but will allow you to do it in a structured way to best suit your needs.
Then rest and have a bite to eat and / or drink in the cafes/bars that are nearby to the old church square.
We always like to take time out to sit around this historic square that is not only clean, pretty and co-located with beautiful historic areas / buildings / features but often cool with it.
