As we approached the junction near Kapikirri where there is a sign to the tombs we got flagged down by a group of elderly ladies crouched on the ground doing needle work.
One of them insisted upon being our guide even though we didn't want one.
Regardless, she followed us to the tombs and then to my surprise the rest followed too. We were surprised at how spritely they were as they seemed to be well passed their prime.
Fascinating view of the ruins at the top, the numerous tombs and a great view of the lake.
The 'Ladies' would not leave us alone and they laid out their wares.
Quite frankly there was nothing that we wanted to buy- their lace fish seemed to be something they thought we could not do without.( we could)
We were discussing amongst ourself if we should give them some money anyway but they had gone.
Expecting to see them back at the cars- they had completely disappeared!
As we drove up to the village we were surrounded by elderly people and suddenly it occurred to me that we could have walked onto a film set of 'Sean of the dead'!
With difficulty I turned around in a very tight road and put my foot down- the experience was really scary.
Had a big giggle about it later that evening, it was actually one of our highlights!

Visit 4 stunning turquoise bays & Paradise Island on this fantastic 6 hour daily cruise from 10.30am-4.30pm includes a hot lunch & a vegetarian/gluten free option is available.Siesta is a chill out boat with a mixture of background music but don't play loud pumping rap music all day. We also have a 3 hour sunset dinner cruise which is cooler and very relaxing. Private and VIP tours available.
We have had many a boat trip with Gabby & her team! They welcome you like old friends!
The boat is very clean & well loved, lunch is nice & a reasonably priced bar.
The boat is accessibly friendly for those with mobility issues, such as walking sticks doesn't quite stretch to wheelchairs, but then there are no boats that I know in Altinkum that do! It does provide easy access to the sea with their ramps & you can book your sunbeds either in the shade or out in the blazing sun!
We will be back in a couple of weeks, these guys make our holiday!!

What a great place for all types of families, wether families with young children who can feel safe in the shallow warm water or older families which can just relax in the sun on the soft golden sand. All the amenities are close to the beach and there are vendors walking the beach with snacks and refreshments so there is no need to leave the beach..
It is a very long beach and quite wide. It don't have a tide as such and the water is very shallow for a very long way out so is perfect for everybody. It's a must to visit and spend time there.

Ephesus is the best-preserved classical city on the Mediterranean and perhaps the best place in the world to get the feeling for what life was like in Roman times. As a strategic coastal gateway to the Eastern World, this Ionian refuge grew to be the second largest city in the Roman Empire, the site of a Christian shrine, and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world
I visited this the first time more than 25 years ago. It was an amazing spectacle and took my husband for a re visit last year. It is a truly amazing feat and makes you wonder how on earth it was ever built. Although now you cannot wander freely as it has had to be controlled for preservation concerns. Well worth visiting it is definitely an experience.

The Mermaid is one of many boat trips touting their trade on the Quayside of Akbuk. We originally went to book with Narissa but they were fully booked so we're recommended the Mermaid instead. It costs 50TL, about £13, for the day trip which includes a choice of lunch. Drinks are extra and orders taken throughout the day on a 'tab' and charged at the end of the trip (prices average, but beware as the cost can mount up quickly - especially if you have children)
We set sail at 10.30am Gavin chosen sun beds on the top deck. There are no shortage of beds and indoor Seating is available downstairs if you prefer. The boat visits small inlets around Akbuk Bay and at each stop we swam in the sea. Floats and life jackets are available if you're a little nervous! We spent 30-45 mins at each bay, and we're visited by speedboats offering water activities - ie. Water Sofa runs! Also, an ice cream boat pulled up alongsideus at one bay and we treated ourselves to a lolly! At one of the bay's, we swam to a rocky cove to indulge in a clay mud bath, it was great fun! The staff were friendly, helpful and entertaining and we even had Turkish dancing on the way back. We got back around 5pm. I would highly recommend this tour as a great day out for adults and children alike (as long as you like to swim!)

I stayed in Apollonium Spa & Beach Resort for 2 weeks.Experience is unforgetable.Food was very tasty, territory of hotel is clean and large. The best thing in hotel was animation team. These guys were very nice and fun to spend time with.Everyday there was several activities like golf, water polo, volleyball and e.t.c. I am sure that activities could be boring if there wasn't any animators.Rooms were very clean and comfy too.Sea is near the hotel,so you can easily reach it within 5 minutes. What can i say? One of the best 2 weeks that i spent in my life.
