SixfortySix is positioned in the heart of Whangamata’s main street. Our commitment is to; create an atmosphere of splendor to be enjoyed by all. Gravity espresso coffee, freshly baked pastries & homemade artisan delights. Dine in or take away, it’s your choice! Seasonal readiness of produce necessitates regular revision of the menu, however familiarity is usually only a mouthful away. SixfortySix offers alfresco dining amongst the action of the main street an ideal place to meet during the balmy summer. We take great satisfaction in delighting our costumers with something new and exciting; Life's troubles melt away when shrouded in the atmosphere of unadulterated desire & relaxation. Private functions welcomed!
This used to be the go to place for a good coffee and decent food in Whangamata particularly for those used to the higher standards of coffee, food and service routinely found in the bigger cities. It still is, although it has more competition now, and this is reflected by a smaller crowd in the place. We returned after a couple of indifferent (and once positively awful experience a year or so back). However, the cabinet food is still plentiful; the scones and muffins are massive (too large really, but that’s not a fault they have on their own). The sausage roll is a whopper, virtually a meal in itself and there’s a good range of coffees, teas, smoothies and shakes. Tapas in the late afternoon, but no dinners any more, which is regrettable for visitors. Staff work hard and overall the place has lifted its game, which is welcome.

Soulburger is a casual and relaxing gourmet burger bar with tons of different burger options for you to choose from. We cater for gluten free needs, lil people burgers and vegan eaters too. We hand make all our patties including our vegan patties and create most of our sauces from scratch, in-house. Even our super yummy chippies are seasoned with our secret spices. We're a small restaurant and work hard to maintain an extra high level of quality, high standard of service and work fast to get you your burgers as quick as we can grill them. We offer cold beers, wines and liquor drinks if you like to wash your burgers and fries down with a frosty beverage. Afterwards you can walk off your yummy meal by seeing the sights. Whangamata is a famous surf beach and is an easy stroll to the sandy shores to see the action in the water, or to just get your toes sandy. Come visit us at Soulburger where our friendly staff will whip you up something to feed your soul.
I do like the taste of a good burger as someone in a movie once said. This place does beef, chicken and vege/fish burgers (lentil patty anyone?) with fries and shakes, and they do it well. I had the Royale with cheese (what else?). There is room to eat in, but in summer that gets pretty hot, and while there are outside tables, there aren’t many. Takeaway and phone orders are big. Soul Burger is licensed so you can enjoy wine or beer with your meal. All their stuff is made on the premises and a bit of tender loving care shows through. Well worth a visit when you are in the mood for a good burger

Was nothing to rave about. Wouldn't rush back.. Was ignored for about 30 minutes before we even got water and all the waitresses seemed rather unapproachable... I will be back eventually and hopefully by then, their game has picked up...

Dine at New Zealand's most beautiful beach destination This exceptionally popular evening restaurant is where fresh food enjoys a fusion with the modern cuisine of New Zealand and the Mediterranean. Famous in Whangamata and beyond, Neros enjoys a smart but relaxed ambience with a distinct seaside feel. In addition to restaurant dining both footpath and beautiful courtyard garden are complete with fire tables to provide a perfect stage for a wonderful night out at New Zealand's most beautiful beach destination.
Although our 5-nights accommodation had a kitchen, we decided to go to Neros one night. Went back two nights later! The seafood linguini is super. We also recommend the salmon ("excellent") and risotto ("to die for"). The green curry was good too. Looks like pizza is more than half of their business. Very busy on a Thursday night in March; super busy on Saturday night, which slowed down the kitchen a little, but the service was still great.

Good food, and the beach.
We had a very interesting conversation with the locals. The dining was Al Fresco and the conversations were not confined to a single table. When the locals discovered we were from America they wanted to share about the treasures of the Coromandel Pennunsula. The cafe is located right on the beach and we had a nice walk after our lunch.

Whangamata's only beach side cafe serving quality cuisine at affordable prices in a relaxed atmosphere
This is the happening place at Whangamata Beach. It's always busy during the summer months, especially in the morning during breakfast hours. Their coffee is good, and breakfast are all excellent too. Service is good too. They get the meals out pretty quickly, but it's fun just people watching since it's directly behind the Surf Club.

Very good pizza. Enough choice for the whole family. And some new ones we had not tried before. Recommended.

we've visited this cafe on 2 or 3 occasions and each time we have been greeted with a friendly smile by staff. we've thoroughly enjoyed the raw key lime pie and the raw caramel slice, the coffee is excellent and they offer coconut or almond milk for lattes. a wonderful experience all around.

Intimate and tasteful, Incognito is the pet project of Whangamata's best chef. Everything is cooked fresh and to order by the owner herself. Sporting an extensive wine list, Incognito focusses on providing a great experience every time. Although bookings are essential , walk ups will be welcomed whenever possible.
A lovely little restaurant with amazing food. My partner and I loved it. He had the lamb shanks and I had the Thai curry - both delicious. And the desserts were amazing as well. Also the best fries I have ever had. Definitely recommend and book to avoid disappointment as it's a small place.
