Welkom (Afrikaans pronunciation: [ˈvɛlkɔm]) is the second-largest city in the Free State province of South Africa, located about 140 kilometres (90 mi) northeast of Bloemfontein, the provincial capital. Welkom is also known as Circle City, City Within A Garden, Mvela and Matjhabeng. The city's Sesotho name, Matjhabeng means 'where nations meet', derived from the migrant labour system, where people of various countries such as Lesotho, Malawi and Mozambique etc. met to work in the mines of the gold fields.

Super nice restaurant! Very cozy and elegant. The food is very very nice, but not so expensive. Recently changed to new owners. Friendly staff and the Managers are walking and talking to the people constantly to find out if all is well. Small children can eat with the parents, but there is no play facilities available for children. Very clean bathrooms. Super nice food

As regulars to all Spurs, we especially enjoy our "local" Spur. It has both an indoor and outdoor play area for kids. The staff are friendly. The food is almost always on-time. We stay in Welkom for the past 25 years and can truly rate the restaurant as the best in Welkom and are highly recommended. The most popular dishes are the baby Kingklip special and herb sirloin steak. The outside dining area is linked with a beautiful garden area. The atmosphere is great and the cubicle Seating gives privacy if required.

We had some relatives visiting and decided to go to this venue for a brunch. We had a few different meals and everyone was pleased with their food. Prices good Service was okay Venue good Play area good and safe Will definitely call in again

Nando's Welkom is an excellent restaurant with its healthy food and quality service. It attracts more black middle class and is a favourite among the hip and happening crowd. If you have style, you will enjoy this place.

Friendly Service, Food is excellent always, mmmm and the Bottomless Hot Chocolate for the winter is definitely a winner. and the Soup is devine, just sit back and enjoy your meal.

This establishment is unique! It is a 10-15 min drive from welkom. We went there early morning, had some nutella flapjacks and carrot cake, both were very good. Next we did the 5km walking trail, saw a large variety of wild animals incl. Wildebeest, gemsbok, springbok, ostrich, afterwards we sad down for lunch, eisbein with the most amazing stampmielies!!! and a farmburger which was equally tasteful, perhaps a larger varierty of lunch items could be added to the menu. Die Melkkan, has its own personality, the owner is a gem, and the staff are amazing! If you want something different from the daily city venues or you want to experience the farm with a "lekker" twist. This is well worth the visit.
