Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, contains one of the largest surviving medieval quarters in Europe. Included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, Old Town contains almost two thousand medieval, gothic, renaissance, and baroque buildings, all centered on the neo-classical cathedral and town hall. Other popular attractions include the KGB Museum, located in a former Soviet prison, and the 13th century Higher Castle, which affords a glorious view of the city center.

Compared to The price this restaurant is overrated. Food was really nice and wine pairing worked great. But... You can have The same or even better quality with less money on Vilnius.
A big minus was also that 2 cheff's compliments and appertizer were brought to table too fast, maybe a minute in between. Big plus was a cheff's compliment with coffee.
Quality of food was good and setting was nice.

Walked in off the street to an empty restaurant but we had already passed this place earlier in the day and decided to eat here after seeing their menu. The said empty restaurant filled up literally as we sat down and we knew this place was popular.
The waitor was a charming big guy and his service alone would bring us back here .
The food was delicious, we had a potato salad to share for a starter then a wiener schnitzel and a pork schnitzel in mushroom sauce. Massive portions to be fair so if you are a light eater like us I would maybe skip the starter. Lovely bottle of Macedonian red wine which was suggested by our waitor to wash it down. Total bill for 3 of us €70. Great value for our first night in Vilnius

Modern Italian cuisine with a twist of fine-dining. Restaurant is located in the center of Vilnius, near the famous Islandijos street, which is full of bars, clubs and pubs .
We found it here - at Tripadvisor - as we looked for something in the area, and the choice was good. A small cafe-like restaurant with an ambitious approach both to service and food. The servings were ridiculously large, as most other places in Vilnius, so two starters made me more than full. The waitress didn't know much about wine, so the only decently priced white wine, which was announced as semi-dry was as dry as hay and went OK with our meal. Prices are low and the overall experience was good. Would have wanted a larger choice, both of food and wine, but again - they seem to have made a choice; rathe ambitious at a small scale than bg scale uninteresting. That kind of places, you find all ower the town, anyway...

KING & MOUSE also offers a wide range selection of other aged spirits and beer to compliment it's many delicious appetizers and salads.
This place was amazing! I visited Vilnius in June, and we went to King & Mouse every evening. The variety of whiskies and the knowledge of the staff is really good, and the'yre so friendly and welcoming. The bar is cozy and has a good atmoshpere. The music fits perfectly to the environment and was good as well. I also recommand the food. Thanks for making my trip to Vilnius even better :)

I booked by telephone 6 weeks before the required reservation date, 15th July, and had eagerly anticipated dining in a lovely location in one of the better hotels in Vilnius, in the much talked about Telegrafas Restaurant.
The first disappointment on arrival at 19.45 the restaurant had no access to their "system" and hence no access to the details of our reservation (with the note about my birthday celebration).
However, we could at least be accommodated in the restaurant, it was completely empty! We were shown to a table facing The Cathedral, perhaps so that it was not so obvious that there were no other diners. Champagne to begin our celebration...
Quite a reasonable menu and wine list; we chose accordingly, Venison Tartare and Lobster Bisque to start and Atlantic Dover Sole and a Lamb Saddle for the mains.
A delightful amuse bouche arrived which we enjoyed with a glass of Sancerre. The starters were less impressive, the lobster bisque tepid, the venison rather an odd colour and smothered in brown "gloup" the likes of which I had never seen before.
A trio and another couple of diners had arrived by now, 20.30, but the place was totally devoid of atmosphere.
The Lamb Saddle looked delicious but was tepid, the Dover Sole unavailable and substituted for Sea Bass..
We shared a splendid chocolate dessert and then walked through the Old Town back to where we were staying. An unexciting celebration all together.
8 hours later my other half was vomiting violently. We worked out it was most likely to have been caused by the strange coloured Venison Tartare covered in "gloup", as I had not tasted that dish and I was fine.
We felt we should mention it to the restaurant which I did by email. They were immediately in denial and forcefully said we should have sought medical advice and had samples taken!! No hint if where to find a doctor in a foreign Country! Fortunately the victim is a Medical Doctor and had treated the problem accordingly!
By way of compensating us for our disappointing experience they kindly invited us to take lunch as their guests in Telegrafas "next time we are in Vilnius"!
We have no plans to return to Vilnius, ever, so that won't cause them much trouble.
Would we ever chose to go back anyway? No.

Lunch at Dublis should be on everyone's itinerary when visiting Vilnius, we had an amazing lunch with very reasonable prices, the soup with haddock and parsley is to die for!! Service is great and friendly, the only negative is the price of wine, I suggest that you stick to local beer which is delicious!

Sweet Root - seasons inspired local cuisine. The restaurant is located in Uzupis, the most distinctive district of Vilnius. Its tasting menu is concise though balanced, changing in line with the rhythm of beautiful seasons of Lithuanian nature. It is based on true, natural, locally sourced produce and patterns derived from traditional Lithuanian cuisine.
Well, what can i say. I have tried plenty different restaurants and this one definitely plays in the highest league. The set menu changes frequently depending on what ingredients are available and none of them were anything we've expected or tried before. A real exploration...MoreAčiū! Many thanks for sharing your dining experience at our restaurant! It keeps us going and striving for better! Hope we gonna manage to surprise you again on your next visit! 6 weeks and 3 more visits since last recommendation and I can only express how great a restaurant this is. The devotion to cooking great italian food made me come back 3 times extra from my first visit - in only 6 weeks. What to recommend? All of it but personnally I have a crush for the vitello tonnato, the carbonara and the raviolis - so tasteful. Visit Flavio and get carried away. Thx for many great experiences Flavio. Will be back.
