Pezinhos N'Areia

"The perfect combination between Nature and Gastronomy" We are a typical Portuguese Restaurant, specialized in fresh fish and seafood. Our history started in 1983 as a small hut on the beach and we have grown step by step to become the house as you know it today. Our growth is due essentially to the allegiance of our clients who have always been here with us, through all this years, helping improving our quality with their welcome suggestions and opinions.

Closed for winter holidays from December to February.

The food and location were both stunning. The service was out of this world and the birthday singing to the beat of a drum blew my mind. It also took my wife by surprise, which was the main idea. One word of warning. If you're going to get the rice with sea food, get it between 2 people. It was an enormous portion.

This restaurant has been around for decades. I can remember coming here when I was young.
Prices are not cheap by any Standard, but the quality is up to par. Ameijas were expensive at 19 euros, but they were excellent. Seems strange to me always how prices differ on both sides of the border (Spain + Portugal) depending on local tastes and demand.
I wasn't in the mood for any heavy Seafood dish being alone this time, so I settled for the grilled chicken: Perfection!
Service is professional, efficient but in Portugal, at least in the Algarve, doesn't always come with a smile.

Came for dinner, arrived early so had a choice of table, even if several were booked. The restaurant filled quickly and it was clear why: food is great! We had a very nice grilled robalo (sea bass), very fresh, clearly open ocean type. My daughter had a delicious bacalhau com natas. The recommended wine was also very good for an affordable price. The place was packed, so come early or book in advance. We will return.

We own a house nearby to O Ligerio and we think it by far the best all round restaurant in the area. Excellent fish and the Grilled Chicken is cooked perfectly and comes with excellent home made chips. We also like the clams there and a pint of beer (Caneca) is around 1.25 so just over a Pound a pint. Always busy at lunchtime and you will probably be the only non Portuguese in there.

Like most Portuguese restaurants it's not much from the outside but don't be put off, its stunning!
A warm welcome and true to arriving early the choice of several tables. The usual bread, cheese and olives for starters which were fine with a. Large glass of sangria and a beer. We had come however for the steak on the stone and we were not disappointed.
A sizzling stone in a wood surround with a huge slab of the tenderest steak and four pots of dips on the side. A separate plate of chips accompanied the meal.
Each piece was delicious and was cooked to your own requirements.
The grilled chicken was good too!
Pudim Flan for dessert, although there wasn't much room left.
Staff and service were both good and helpful.
We worth a visit if you like meat.

We came her about half way though our holidays. It was quiet to start but the food was excellent and the atmosphere very good. Very large inside with Seating outside too. We arrived without a booking and got in ok.
The fish is outstanding here - I had the sea bass which was divine - came with potatoes and vegetables. Desserts were also very good.
Drink is cheap and staff are very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is small and triangular in shape hence the bow of a ship, so tables are quite close together but a cosy and friendly atmosphere.
Service friendly if a little slow, but food very tasty and good value. I had sardines, potatoes and salad for €9.50.
Can get busy, especially in the summer but would go there again

This restaurant is Popular with Portuguese and tourists. They speak English and perhaps more languages. The boss is Antonio nicknamed "To" and he explains the menu well. Traditional dishes like black-pig cheeks are yummy, tender and unforgettable. Tuna belly is also amazing . Black pig is the best and "To" has a list of recipes of the different cuts. The fact that I don't like bones is the reason I'm unable to give a recommendation other than the Tuna.

Reviewed By NeilBLondon - Cornwall, United Kingdom

In the 10 years we have had a house in the area, A Camponesa has become our favourite local restaurant. While the speciality is fresh fish, they also do excellent Frango (Chicken) and meat. Everything we have had there has been wonderfully cooked on the BBQ and the Salmon is particularly good. Most fish dishes come with boiled potatoes (either with skin or without) while the chicken & meat come with delicious home made chips. Salads are also very good and they do excellent skinned roasted red peppers as a side salad. The house wine is very good and leave room for desert!

Mar's Bar

Mars Bar is one of the most popular restaurants in Manta Rota. I see that there are only two restaurants noted in the Tripadvisor guide. There are at least ten good restaurants and as many cafes in this area. I am happy to give reviews but Mars Bar should be mentioned. Kind regards. Charles McEvoy

After Reading reviews and a recommendation myself and 6 others children age 1,6 and 10 went for lunch. The ambience was hit and miss and a male staff member which must be the owner/manager was very frosty towards us. It was a busy small establishment and a group of what I would say to be regulars were very well looked after.
However the female waiting staff were very attentive and the food was good quality for the price we paid.
I would recommend the ribs and mini mix should you go visit.
