Home to many ski slopes and schools, including the French National Ski School, Val d'Isere boasts tremendous skiing to complement its lively shopping and nightlife scene. While the schools appeal to beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers will also find more than enough challenging runs to keep them satisfied.

Folie Douce bars are great for a party off the slopes and Val D'Isere FD is no exception. Big tunes, big tables to dance on and big character performers. The Folie Douce at Val Thorens has a better atmosphere and a better slope back to...MoreHello ! Thank for the review ! All the FD have a different atmosphere and we are sorry but we do not choose the slope to go down to the station :) See you soon La Folie Douce

Went for an evening meal at this small restaurant upstairs from a bar. Reasonable varied menu ranging from pizzas to filet steak. Good quality food with a range to suit all tastes and pockets.
To support the food my son and I went for a pitcher of beer - a good option for two weary skiers on a budget.
Liked it so much we went back for a second visit a few days later sampling other fares on the menu.
Some restaurants in this resort can be a little too posh, this is just right. Will definitely go back if in Val D'isere in the future.

A legendary bar and lounge area in one of the nicer hotels in Val d'Isere... the bar area is glowy, warm, and has a nice scene.... the cocktails are good, as is the wine and champagne... and a good selection of nuts and olives (the Puglian ones, my favourites!) to share.

Ideal location for a quick evening meal. Lovely people. Good service. Outstanding pizza. It aint gourmet but its great pizza if you have no other plans and fancy a pizza. It is local to where we stayed, perfect. ( Not sure I would have Travelled to it) try it.

Benoit Vidal cuisine is a successful mix of sunny and local notes and Mediterranean flavors: citrus and herbs bring a personal, fresh and slightly acid touch to this inventive cuisine. Benoit Vidal started his training in his hometown Perpignan, then worked in many different starred restaurants.
Before you look elsewhere in disbelief I'd urge you to look at my profile and see where I have eaten and how I have scored it.
This is the single biggest disappointment of any Michelin star I have visited . I appreciate the effort and creativity but across the board the dishes were lacking in flavour and any wow factor ! My wife and two teenagers were equally dismissive .
If you are vegetarian, I suggest you avoid. Little effort was made to cater for my kids apart from removing the protein from the main course . Imagine flavours of carrot with Yuzu as a main course .
The food was so lacking in flavour that we chose to pass on desert.

Best in the Sunshine on the Terrace. Food exceptional, loved the sea bass and the lobster pasta. Must book. Friendly, good service. Inside is fine just not as special as a lunch in the Sunshine, bottle of rose and easy bus back to Val! What’s not to love.

Average self-service cafeteria that presents itself well. Food not great, but.. it’s cosy for a self-service place. I’ll not hurry back.

The restaurant, formerly known as "La Raclette" has definitely found his fine reputation with the new head Olivier Nuret. It opens every evening (except Mondays) from 19:00 and welcomes you, whether you are hotel guests or not, in an authentic and warm atmosphere. On the menu, you can choose from homemade appetizers, selected meats, various fondues or course the famous "Raclette old" that made the reputation of the house: the squeegee is delicately browned under large ovens is served at the plate, as tradition requires. This is also the only place in Val d'Isere where you can eat this way. For the younger ones (under 7 years), nothing beats our special "Children's menu" or even better, half-priced specialities adapted to children.
The Avancher restaurant has been refurbed recently, it’s very modern for Val but tastefully done. The food is varied, something for everyone, and great for children. Our children had the burger with veg and loved it. I had a mixed cook-your-own meat dish which was great. Highly recommend this place.
Great food, extensive drinks menu - best in val.

Lunch of tartiflette and pizza - both of which were way-above-average delicious.
Lovely, helpful staff.
Great place. Love it.
Would have been nice to eat on the Terrace, except it was -20.
We were lucky to get a table without booking (half-term week). I’d recommend booking.
