We stopped for lunch after completing a driving circle tour of the island. Restaurant is waterfront at the Apooiti Marina just west of the airport. There is no restaurant sign on the masthead marina sign at the entrance; it is after you turn in to the property.
We were the only customers at 1:30 pm and we wanted light cold dishes as the day was hot and humid. The husband and wife owners were welcoming and service was prompt. I had the raw seafood in coconut milk that was spectacularly presented in the coconut shell, see photo attached. My wife had the salad with goat cheese that was tasty. Unfortunately I found my dish to be a bit bland compared the other times that I have had it in the Islands.
The view of the sailboats and the Islands of Tahaa’ and Bora Bora is very relaxing and we lingered after eating for an hour enjoying cold drinks. Everything in French Polynesia is expensive but by these standards the restaurant was mid priced. The Raiatea Lodge about 4 km west has similar priced, tastier fare and almost as good view particularly for the evening meal.

We found La Cubana a great place to spend some time enjoying a cup of coffee, pastry and using the wifi to check emails. The wifi is free if you purchase food otherwise there is a nominal charge. The location is terrific if you are on a cruise ship as it is right next to the dock. They have a nice covered area with plenty of tables just outside the door so you get a cool breeze when it's hot outside. The servers have a hard time understanding English so take your time with them. They are very helpful. I would also suggest getting some of the local currency as it's much easier to make purchases. There is a big screen TV to watch games and a band that plays around lunch time. Wifi is a premium on many of the Islands so look for this place if you visit Raiatea.

The not-to-be-missed sunset from the pier out front is incredible. The Lodge itself is very "Polynesian" looking and very attractive. The service was fine however the food was rather bland - including the Mahi-mahi I had. The sauce served with it was tomato based and spicy so if there had been any taste at all it was masked. You don't have a lot of choice on Raiatea so you might just try it.

Let me first say that finding a restaurant on Raiatea with BOTH ambiance AND great food is a challenge. Those in and around Uratoa may have one or the other - but not both. As my wife and I had eaten two lunches there in the last two weeks, we suggested that our brother and sister-in-law accompany us for dinner. Mihi,, Eric and the staff met all of our Holiday wishes.
The food was incredible (especially the soup); the presentation unique and beautiful and the service excellent.
The dining area was beautifully decorated (island style) and the restrooms were the most beautiful and clean on the island.
We wish we had time to stay at the resort, but we were staying at a private home. (Next time.)
This is a MUST DO on any trip to Raiatea!

Right next to the cruise dock is an open aired restaurant that serves cold beer and sodas. We chose to partake in a very tasty and cold Hinano beer for $5 each. There are small tables for many inside and may eat out as well. We did not try any food here. Place was clean and we would stop by again some time.

This was one of our last days on Raiatea. Good restaurants are few and far between on the island so we were happy to see that Snack Tonoi was offering grilled, freshly caught langouste. A wonderful table right on the water al fesco was just what we were looking for. It is too bad they are open so few days during the week. Service was good at the beginning (we were the first to arrive) but got slower as the meal progressed. This was primarily due to the rest of the family was preparing the meal which left only one. The langouste was wonderful -- I had it with a ginger sauce.......excellent. Go there! The family (including the kids) are great.

A little food-truck with french speciality, crepes, sweets and salted, ice-cream, smoothies . We are in a beautiful place, with view on bora-bora, tahaa, Huahine. The only place you can swim in uturoa, showers after bath.
Great guide and driver who we also found playing in the band at one of the stops. Lovely views and interesting stops on our tour of the island but the plastic school chairs provided for Seating on the bus was uncomfortable.

The restaurant at Villa Ixora offers a real epicurean experience…Everything is a delicacy to taste : a fresh tuna tartar asian style, a delicious smoked fish risotto, a parrot fish filet from the lagoon or the famous mahi mahi fresly catched in the Pacific ocean. Chef Terence Trouyet ‘s cuisine is an exquisite fusion of mediterranean inspiration and local flavors. A beverage menu enhance the meal time including a fine wine selection. The service is brighten up by a professional yet friendly team.
This restaurant is owned by the former Manager and Chef of Vahine Island resort. We couldn't wait to try it and met some local friends there for lunch. We were not disappointed! The food was outstanding and the months spent renovating and decorating were obviously not wasted. It is a beautiful setting. There are 4 hotel rooms are available and a lovely small swimming pool along with a boat dock and some water toys. Our focus was on the restaurant and it was a excellent experience. Our server was also excellent and attentive. The location is only ten minutes from the airport so it is a perfect place to have an outstanding meal before your flight. We hope to return next year.
