Was taking a Saturday drive, with no particular destination in mind, and around suppertime found us near Tweed, Ontario. I remembered a fabulous restaurant I used to frequent 30 odd years ago when travelling from Toronto to Ottawa on business. Much to my delight, it was still in business; and even better, the food was/is still amazing. Everything was delicious; portions substantial. Highly recommend if in the area.

Just about everything, accommodation very poor. No phone, no hot water, lack of staff, very noisy in evening, wedding party, running in hall, banging doors, shouting, had trouble sleeping, TV remote did not work, bedside lamp did not work, bed very uncomfortable, upon arrival no sign as to where to check-in, do not recommend at all. Located in a lovely lake front spot.

We visited Vito's for the 3rd time in the last couple of months and it lived up to and exceeded our previous service and quality of food. The service is a littleslow but friendly and the food is really good - especially for the price. We have now had their burgers, fish and chips, pizza and pasta dishes - all good but a word of warning - the food is piping hot when it comes out of the kitchen so don't burn your mouth as I recently did! All in all a very inexpensive but tasty dinner or lunch!
6. West Wind
A clean, small family run motel with several seasonal out cabins. The motel is located adjacent to a beautiful rustic boutique with an outdoorsy wildlife theme.

Stopped at the By the Way Cafe for lunch and we were thrilled with the real Montreal smoked meat Sandwich! Lots of meat and yellow mustard on soft light rye bread - just like Schwartz's. The home made potato salad, home made coleslaw and home made coconut custard pie were all fantastic.
Service was friendly and quick. Coffee was great. And they even have real Montreal bagels.
Don't stop at Timmy's or subway when you can go to By the Way!
