Food to die for, it's always excellent. This restaurant is a favourite of mine and have looked after us for many occasions. Staff always welcoming and efficient. Decor is plain but don't be fooled by this, you are in for a real food treat.

Very unassuming entrance but beyond the threshold, everything is exceptional.
Small, cosy but elegantly decorated restaurant.
Service was impeccable - very friendly, courteous, attentive and professional at all times.
Food was outstanding for each course - perfect portions, beautiful presentation, well-balanced and not pretentious but every morsel was scrumptious. No kids menu but girls were very welcomed and extensive menu made available.
Will definitely be back, can't recommend this place enough.

The restaurant has been in existence for many years it opens wed-Sat evenings and Sunday (lunch and dinner). it offers delicious food, friendly service, pleasant decor. Much care is taken with cooking and attention to detail in the presentation. Food tasy and delicious -well worth a visit!
We always love our visits to the Acorn in Tullamore. It is always a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere engendered by the owners Greg and Carmel. The table layout is such that you are never sitting too close to the next table and you can have a lovely intimate meal. The attention to detail in the service is second to none, and the quality of the food is exceptional and unique in the area in my experience. On this occasion the filet steak was recommended to me and it did not disappoint, as it was so tender and succulent that I did not need any of the excellent peppercorn sauce supplied with it. From starter through to desert and coffee this was, as always, an exceptional experience. We are looking forward to our next visit already.

Love this place. Sadly empty on a Monday night but food was superb. Calamari starter and 10oz steak main. Faultless. Estrella on tap. Good music and ambience. Good service and reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

In A Small Little Alley
Got a take away of chicken balti, madras and onion bhaji on Friday evening last.
The chicken in both dishes were inedible, the onion bhaji was disintegrated in the tray.
The egg fried rice had seen better days.
Overall it was up there with one of the worst takeaways I've ever had.

From the moment you lift the phone to make your booking, to the time you leave the door of this restaurant you can expect a friendly welcome from Asad, Abu and all of their staff.
As a group of four, we always order for the collective and then we eat 1/4 of each dish which gives a wonderful experience of the multitude of flavours from the various ingredients used in each dish. Last night however we had 5 dishes to delve from, one as a complement from the chief..
We eat, then we score..
Chicken Sizzler: chicken with thai chilli herbs, while was fresh and tasty- its taste of green peppers caused the score to be the lowest at 7/10
Sag Chicken: chicken dish with spinach-creamy sauce and mild flavour: 8/10
Shishir House Special Curry: combination of chicken prawn lamb in a mild creamy curry: 8/10
Morgi Makhanwala: chicken and lamb cooked in a yoghurt, tomato sauce with more of a spicy kick that the three previous dishes: 9/10
Buttered Chicken: tandoori chicken in butter, tomatoes, yogurt and fresh cream got the highest score 10/10
Each of these 5 dishes contained melt in your mouth meats with really fresh veg- we also had garlic and cheese nan bread / mushroom pilau rice which were delicious!!
Complementary pappadum/sauses/salad pieces before you meal are given
Anything that is not eaten is prepared for take away which is a great idea ..
Each dish above cost between €9.95-€12.95 with Rice €2.95/ Nan €2.95 or less.
You can bring your own wine too..
Toilet area for ladies is compact but very clean.
***** Highly recommended !!!

Jennys based in upstairs of shopping mall right opposite Bridge House Hotel where we were staying. We both had chicken and mushroom soup and Sandwich, which had a good choice of fillings. This is a lunch special and very good value. The soup was thick and full of chicken, hard to finish such a large bowl!. Service very pleasant and quick. Quite busy and other hot food looked good.
