Actually this temple is in Hornadu which is 50 kms away from sringeri. I am not sure why this temple is listed here. It is already listed in Hornadu Things to do. Please visit this temple if you are any where near sringeri,in Uttara Kannda, Chickmagalur districts. It is a nice temple well managed and beautifully located. The goddess darshan is very pleasant and I am sure all of us will be blessed with a visit to her. You can stay in temple accomdoation - Bhadra Nivas Lodge - which is well maintained and very cheap.

We went Kundadri hill during our stay in Agumbe. The winding road finally reaches it's misty destination. There is a Jain temple uphill. We reached there at a time when everywhere was covered with mist, providing a fantastic experience.. Travellers to Agumbe or Shiksha should never miss this misty peak

When we visited sirimane falls, it was drizzling, and cold. Probably, that was the reason why it was totally deserted. And We had the entire falls for ourselves.
Very picturesque place.
Mr Ravi R K - 94488 73344 helped us by giving information about the falls, and also travel assistance.
Because, due to heavy rains, some other falls in the Agumbe village were closed for Public. So it is important that we make an informed decision, with people who have updated local news .

A very beautiful temple with great architecture. Lots and lots of carvings around the temple, inside the temple. Main deity in the temple is Vidyashankara, There is a big Shiva linga in the sanctum sanctorum. There are beautifully carved temples in the temple. There is a huge hall in the temple. lots of space inside the temple where you can sit and meditate.
You will need to climb some 10-12 big steps to reach the temple. There is lot of architecture around the temple. Take time to go round and enjot the carvings.

About 400 years old. Main attraction is Linga. Also a svayambu Ganesh ideal also know as Chatarbuj Ganesh, has two shoulders and two hands, unlike other Ganesh idols with 4 hands etc. Rishyasringa Maharishi prayed for rain and was granted, hence people go this temple to pray for or stop rain!

First of all I wd request TripAdvisor to combine Vidya Sankara Temple also under this head. Both are one and the same.
Vidyasankar Temple Sringeri is a master piece in architecture built in 13th century by a great Sankaracharya of Sringeri Mutt, Vidyaranyar. The Dasavathara n intricate workmanship on hardstones, speaks volumes of the skilled Sthapathis of those days. Located on the Thunga River surrounded by Forests n Mountains, it is a great place to be visited in one's lifetime! Peace n Tranquillity assured!

Let me begin by saying that the falls themselves are quite beautiful but the experience was made average thanks to the crazy number of people present on the weekend we went there. This meant a crowded route and a very loud bunch of largely men. So, I would suggest a weekday visit if possible to really enjoy the place especially if you like some quiet.
Most people seem to come there by bikes or personal vehicles but we made it there from Udupi by taking a bus to Hebri and then hiring a cab for about Rs.1200/- (you can try bargaining this down but frankly the road is rather terrible) to and back from Kudlu to Hebri (about 23kms one way). Once you reach Kudlu, you have to trek about a km or two up into the hills to reach the falls. Yes, tiny leeches are all around so wear shoes and mind where you sit. You need to also cross two streams so waterproof footwear would be better. The path is not very broad and some sections have steep steps but the trek itself is not difficult if you are reasonably fit.
