We decided to visit a garden as part of our recent holiday in Grenada and the hotel recommended Palm Tree Gardens, what a treat!! Laurence is a wonderful, knowledgable gardener and his easy manner and passion made this a visit not to forget. The array of trees, shrubs and beautiful orchids were quite simply breath taking. Thankyou for sharing your garden with us.

Grand Anse Beach

Long, lovely sweep of white sand fronted by turquoise blue water and backed by hills.

Reviewed By Ronald L - Longmont, United States

Off our cruise ship and caught a water taxi just north of the pier. Cost $10-US pp for round trip. Took about 20 minutes to run to Grand Anse Beach. One of the longest white sand Beaches on Grenada. Could have also taken the local bus with a grey circle on the wind
shield with the #1 inside. This costs 2.50 EC or $1-US pp one way and they run frequently. Taxis also will get you there and back at a more substantial cost. Lounge chairs and umbrellas available for a fee. Very nice beach.

Sandy Island

A small beach island known for its snorkeling.

This little island in the main bay of the island of Carriacou is a perfect beach destination. It was picturesque and quiet. We went with Arawak Divers and all had a great time- kids, snorkelers, scuba divers, and sun worshippers :) Highly recommended.

Seven Sisters Falls

One of Grenada's most beautiful areas where a waterfall rushes down the mountainside into a large pool perfect for swimming.

Reviewed By Andrew R - Langley City, Canada

Took a tour here from the cruise, as we had minimal time in Grenada, we didn't want to try and figure this one out ourselves. As we're pretty accomplished hikers from the West Coast, steep and slippery isn't an issue for us. The hike itself was less than a couple km one way. Much of the rest of our tour though, was older and much less sure footed.
The steepness and slipperiness makes this a relatively significant hike, so if you're about to book a cruise tour and you're... older, seriously consider your level of fitness. (context, we are early 30s and can hike >25km a day, with full packs)
What spoiled the experience are all the locals trying to make a few bucks - from the guy who simply jumped off the falls, to the lady who wanted to wash my hiking shoes, everyone was looking for another handout.
Overall, a nice spot, but with some minor annoyances.

River Antoine Estate Rum Distillery

Oldest rum distillery on the island featuring 250-year-old equipment. Offers complete tours and tastings.

This was a fun stop as part of our full day tour of Grenada BUT I don't believe for one minute this place has actually produced any rum in recent years. The operation was not functional as the water wheel was down "for maintenance". This facility is dirty! And the tell tale boxes from other rum brands indicate that rum comes from else where (we were told they ran out of bottles so their competitors sent over bottles to use).
Regardless, our tour guide was very entertaining and the story of how rum was made in the past is very interesting. The rum tasting is also a fun way to end but the rum is horrid! Wouldn't buy it even though it was cheap cheap cheap! So is lighter fluid haha.
Enjoy this tour for what it is - a trip to the past.

House of Chocolate

House of Chocolate is a very unique and beautiful hand crafted mini-museum-boutique, chocolateria-cafe portraying the history of chocolate in the world and Grenada. Specialize on local organic chocolate.

Reviewed By Patrick G - Virginia Beach, Virginia

There's a lot packed into this little store. Just after the entrance is a history of cocoa cultivation on the island including pictures and original equipment. There is, of course, a whole range of chocolate and spice items for sale, along with samples of the various chocolates to try. There is a little treat counter in the back with chocolate and spice flavored desserts, drinks and ice cream - fantastic! Most of all, you are bathed in the smell of cocoa as soon as you walk in; it is quite intoxicating, even for a non-chocoholic like me. Well worth a quick visit.

Belmont Estate is an old sugar cane factory which has now become a chocolate
factory. Short but informative tour: starting with the cocoa pod and the drying process etc etc. and of course when you sample the bits and bobs at the end, you end up buying the darn stuff. And don't get me wrong, it is very good chocolate.
Just be aware that we did find Belmont chocolate bars all over Grenada and it was often cheaper in other stores and venues!!
Lovely, friendly and knowledgeable guides.

Underwater Sculptures

Reviewed By daltonblue - Dalton-in-Furness, United Kingdom

We have recently visited the sculptures by means of a kayak trip with SNS kayaks. I cant seem to find them on facebook but this is a great and inexpensive way to see the fish and sculptures, although it is an energetic way of doing it , especially when the wind gets up.
You are guided by staff in a seperate canoebut still kept informed. The owner of the business travels alongside in a dinghy taking photographs , which fpr $10 he will supply a dvd of the day.
There is also rum bunch, coconut and bananas on your return.
A great way to spend a Sunday morning.
