The popular belief is that the name of the Town has been derived from the name of the deity.According to legends originally Bhadrakali was worshiped inside a cave in the Meghasana hill of Mayurbhanja district by a sage named Tapasa Russi. After the death of the sage, one of his pupil namely Bhadranatha brought the goddess to Bhunyamahalla of Bhadrak

It takes 9 minutes to travel from Bhadrak to Maa Bhadrakali Temple. Approximate driving distance between Bhadrak and Maa Bhadrakali Temple is 8 kms or 5 miles.
A big idol of Bhadrakali is situated in the temple which looks very beautiful.The statue of Goddess is of black granite and is seated in lotus posture on a lion. The temple remains open for visitors and devotees everyday from 6.30 am to 1pm and again from 3pm to 9.30 pm.As per the nomenclature of the goddess one tends to believe that it is the goddess Kali who is being worshiped in this Bhadrakali Pitha. However, since the deity is seated on a lion, one school of thought has opined that the goddess can be no other than the goddess Durga

Dhamra Port is located on the north of mouth of river Dhamra . The Port is situated about 100 Nm south of Haldia major port and about 50 Nm north of Paradip major port. Dhamra falls in close proximity to the mineral rich industrial states of Orissa, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.One should must see this beautiful site.Camera is allowed here to take photographs. The nearest railway station is Bhadrak which is 62 kms away from Dhamra .Dhamra is connected by road with Bhadrak (82 kms).

Akhandalamani Temple at Aradi village, Odisha, India, is dedicated to Lord Siva. This temple is about 37 kilometres away from Bhadrak. It is around 40km from Basudevpur town of Bhadrak district.From Basudevpur, you have to go towards Bideipur.From Bideipur chhak,you have to go on left road towards Dhamara.First you will see Dhamara port which is not allowed for general public and after 3 km there is Dhamurei Temple.It excellent and deity is worshiped by lady priest.Calm & quite place.Prasad is also available there.You can find the sea-beach which is not so good.From Basudevpur,you have to hire a taxi
