After walking up to the steep hills and managing all the stairs from the centre of Camara der Lobos we arrived to this great restaurant, yes it was hard :D, and the food was amazing. What a great reward!
The service was brilliant. fast, helpful, smiling waiters.
The place was clean and simple. But the food was so delicious. We took chicken and the special beef skewer- espetada.the melting butter on the top did it even better. The beer was great and very cold!
Thank you for such a great place! :)

We imform our clients that we not open for lunch, and kitchen close at 22:00.. Informamos aos nossos clientes que nao fazemos almoços,e cozinha encerra as 22:00..
Meat eaters dream. This place is amazing, we had a platter between 2 which included rump, sirloin and fillet steak, washed down with Argentinian Malbec. The meat was accompanied with 3 wonderful sources, home made chips, olives and salad. All this came to around £30 each, a bargain compared to most steak houses. Whilst sat there I noticed the waiter shock the hand of every guess when leaving. All the staff were on top form. I can understand the great reviews

Located at the seafront of the Lido (Funchal) Leeno's is a small restaurant that is run by a team of young men who are focused to offer their clients a welcoming experience. Heart warming service and good food that is accessible to all people (locals and tourists) at reasonable prices. Their goal is to give you a reason for you to come back again.
We were recommended to this restaurant whilst staying at the Residence at Porto Mare.Great food and friendly staff. A very good view to the sea and we will go back next year for sure.Hi David, thank you for your kind words and review, we are looking forward in welcoming you back again in the near future.

This is a great place to stop if you are getting the urge for some spicy food. The meal started with some free papadums with several sauces to go with them. I ordered one of the spiciest meals, chicken vindaloo, and I was not disappointed. The service was very good, and we got a free glass of Madeira at the end.

On holiday in a time-share, we felt that the time had come to treat ourselves to some fine dining. So to Chris's, ordering the Formula - 3 courses with wines and nibbles for Euro 37.5.
The beef carpaccio starter was delicious, but the duck risotto was a bit heavy and short on duck.
The lamb with figs and mint was tender and moist, the sea-bass was cooked just right.
Desserts included chocolate melt (yummy!) and apple crumble.
Nibbles could be a bit eccentric, e.g. goats cheese brulée, but the mango sorbet was very tasty and refreshing.
Wines are included and match the food chosen; the white wine was especially good.
For a grand total of Euro 75 we ate and drank well; fortunately their credit card reader was working properly, avoiding the embarrassment at the Shelter restaurant earlier in the week, when their reader "declined" the same card (for some odd reason!)
PS: take care when entering the restaurant, as there is a step just as you turn towards the tables; it needs marking or lighting.

We had chosen this restaurant from the reviews and were not disappointed, just amazed. Met with a gin and tonic as we were shown to our table (booked in advance), the maitre de explained the process: a relatively limited menu of three courses at a fixed price of 37.50 euros with wine for each course included.
The meal was exactly as described, after an amuse bouche, the starters (we chose fish, salmon and avocado) were accompanied by white wine (not just one glass, they kept filling them up). The main course (my wife chose a shrimp risotto and I chose the fish stew, both excellent) was accompanied by red wine and the dessert by a muscatel. In between courses there was a mango sorbet.
Service was exemplary and the value for money extraordinary.
