This restaurant has a unexploded ordinance theme. There are bomb casings out front and the walls are decorated with hand grenades, guns and other weapons from the Vietnam War era, when Johnson and Nixon destroyed Xieng Khoung province with their Secret War on Laos. The restaurant shows a video about the UXO problem at 7:30 pm each evening, which is worthwhile.
The food is less impressive, or at least more uneven. The tom yam soup was good but the burger was decidedly average. Perhaps the Asian food is a better bet than the Western fare. Also, the drinks are a bit on the small side. Still, at least it has character.

Good Lao food. If you are with a group of more than 4 worth ordering ahead, as a lot of ingredients are bought in fresh. In fact, worth doing this in many Lao restaurants, especially the smaller towns. A choice of interesting docos about the Secret War and the dreadul legacy left in Laos as after dinner enterainment.

After weeks of Laotian food we decided to go Indian. By chance we found the Nisha restaurant, and were very enthousiast about the food and the staff. Only afterwards we read the many positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and I can assure you: they are right.
As you know the Indian cuisine is also well suited for vegans.

The people who runs this place are friendly. And service is fast. We had breakfast here. We got our food like in 5-10 minutes. Taste average. Big portion. Less patrons here.

We stayed in Phonsavan for five days while exploring the Plain of Jars and ate here many times.
We found the food to be very tasty and authentically spicy. What really stood out though was the size of the servings. I would say with no hyperbole that they are twice as big as the average western cafe. And of course, cheaper to boot.
We highly recommend a stop here while you are in town.

Catering for both travellers and locals in Phonsavan, 'Bamboozle' is a bamboo-themed restaurant and bar, with a range of both International and Asian dishes, as well as a wide selection of drinks. Specialties at Bamboozle include goat cheese dishes, cream of pumpkin soup, vegetable tempura, tofu laab, homemade 12-inch pizzas and "The best burger around". Drinks include a range of ice cold beers, spirits, cocktails and house wines. In mulberry season, we have our popular mulberry shakes, mojitos, teas and wines. We have free and fast wifi, local gifts for sale, local info and occasional live acoustic music. Open daily from 5.00pm to 10.30pm.
Good staff. Next to the street but nice environment. Do not take the garlic bread with mozarella, its so much garlic for one or two tiny pieces of mozza. Average burger with one single slice of tomato and ten French fries. Pumpkin soup tasted like water :(
Very expensive for the food

What a great find this was when I just needed a short break from Lao food and a clean environment to eat it in. A superb pizza and a couple of glasses of good wine, along with an interesting chat with the host, who thoughtfully...MoreMy Dear Shaz, our Mission is try give pleasure to our customers, so when they are ok is good moment for us. Thank you for your review.

Freshly brewed coffee from Laos. A wide range of local and imported beer, wine and cocktails. We serve dinner from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Whilst the food & service were OK our evening was ruined by an extremely noisy group celebrating a wedding. We assumed that they had an association with the owner because nobody attempted to quiet them down. In a small room behavior like this must be controlled by management.
