this abandoned village is one of the highlights of the island and a must see. it has a really peaceful atmosphere and gives you an appreciation of what life used to be like on the island. the summer months hold a bar and music every night with a free bus to and from the town, well worth a go

This 15th-century monastery was built in honor of the patron saint of Tilos.
Not easy to access nor drive on the difficult cliffedge road but this trip offers breathtaking views of bays and Mountains. Once there, take a deal breath and admire one of the oldest Byzantine church built in 1470, with its mosaics, holy icons and spectacular garden. Remember to drink of its water as they say it is holy water. On your way back visit the old Micro Chorio village.

walking up the very steep and demanding hill is toally worth it! plan your ascent so you'll be up just before sunset and don't forget to descend 20-30 minutes before it's completely dark.
It's also imoprtant to follow the piles of stones (generally in Tilos) that were set up as indications to the right way.

The monastery itself is one of the oldest in the Dodecanese Islands and has a wonderful peaceful atmosphere. It is best visited earlier or later in the day when the bus loads of tourists are not queuing up and not clogging up the stairs whilst they take numerous selfies. I am a tourist and don't mean to be derogative but if it is only the photo op. you want there are plenty of other places with that view, not in the monastery and spoiling other people's enjoyment who are actually interested in learning more about the monastery.

The views are wondering as you swim or soak up the sun on this beach. There are trees if you want natural shade.
The sun beds are free if you buy a drink at the local taverna's, these are along the main area of the beach. Lovely Taverna's serving wonderful fresh tasty food.

I felt a fool as on my first attempt to write a review of Eristos Beach I mixed up the sand of Eristos with the pebbles of Livadia. Eristos Beach is a very long sandy beach. We used to come here 30 years ago when it was more or less deserted and were surprised to find people camping here all along the beach. I gather the camping is free and there are toilet and shower blocks. The beach is partially nudist but it's not compulsory. There are a couple of café/kantina type places and a lovely family restaurant one block back from the beach. Everyone was very friendly and there was no loud music blaring! I guess I am giving my age away. There is a bus there and back from Livadia and we enjoyed the day out. Highly recommended to families and campers.

Beautiful beach and coastal walk. It took us about 40 minutes to walk from the main road ( near turning for Mikro Chorio) to this beach. Interesting rocks out at sea. The path continues round the coast to Livadia.
