Greta and interesting views - although one of the times we visited it was so foggy it was difficult to see the ends of the buildings. Interesting to see all of the airline tails that we do not see in the US.
Note: Security was terrible the last time we visit Schiphol - long, ling long lines with few employees interested in helping customers - what happened to that Dutch efficiency?

We chose to take the train from our home town to Schiphol airport, a good choice, at schedule and comfortable. The Schiphol airport railway station has direct access to the arrival and departure halls, rolling stairs as well as elevators are available to help you transporting the luggage to the check in desk. One note, NS trains are not anymore equipped to handle the baggage, in fact you only can store the suitcases outside the passenger compartments, the doors to those compartments are narrow and the stairs are narrow too. From the compartment there is no easy view to the luggage stored on the balcony. We traveled first class after the rush hours so we could place our suitcases in the passenger compartment without disturbing other travellers.

going on holiday and coming home without any worries? make sure you get an airport transfer. let us do the job! book a taxi tour Holland. taxi tours in Holland and Belgium discover Holland and Belgium in the comfort of a chauffeured tour with your private professional English speaking driver.
I booked the shuttle service of connexion. It is as good as hiring a taxi. It is available just outside the airport. It dropped & picked us from gate of our hotel. It accommodate 8 passengers & drop or pick every one from their hotel. So it may take 10 to 15 minutes extra than a pvt taxi, but the convenience is same. If u r less than 4 passengers it is economical. If 4 or more passengers pvt taxi is a better option.
Those who don't have much luggage & don't mind little extra walking train is a cheaper option.
But I liked this shuttle transfer very much because their service is excellent. Very polite & helpful Staff.
I will recommend this to every one

For a price of 15 euro you expect to see really something morge of Schiphol. But no, you sit for an hour in a bus that drives around Schiphol. On a screen in the bus you are informed what is happening inside the several buildings. You even are not allowed top get of the bus during this hour to make a picture. Big disappointment

The Floating Dutchman is an amphibious bus that offers passengers with a stop over (min 4 hours) at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol the possibility to discover Amsterdam between flights. The tour takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes and starts at the airport. Once we've reached Amsterdam the bus will 'splash' into the canals for a cruise through the beautiful Amsterdam canals. Afterwards, the bus will take you back to the airport so you can continue your journey.
The basic description tells you the essence of what this is. You get on the bus either outside Schiphol airport or at a site in the centre of Amsterdam. We got on at Schiphol. The bus looks pretty much like any other tourist coach, and inside it is pretty much the same as any other coach you have ever been on. The seats have decent leg room (I'm 6ft 9 inches, so this matters to me!). The coach drives into Amsterdam - it's a pleasant enough drive, and our driver (with a magnificent moustache, sorry, can't recall his name) gave an entertaining commentary in English as we drove along. After picking up more passengers in the centre of Amsterdam, the coach drives to a the water's edge fairly near NEMO - and then drives into the water. For anyone nervous - the entry into the water was not remotely alarming and was done at a sedate pace.
After that, it's very similar to a trip around the canals on a tourist boat. The only difference is that there are no stopping-off points. The taped commentary, if I recall correctly, was in Dutch, English and German (however, the web site will be able to tell you more on that sort of thing). It was pretty much run of the mill commentary. Then out of the water, a brief stop at a set of shops, and return trip home.
Was it worth it? A large part of the attraction is novelty - people do tend to gather round to see the bus going in and out of the water. If you have a stop over in Amsterdam and only have a limited time to see Amsterdam, I would say that you could do far worse than take the Floating Dutchman. If you in Amsterdam as a tourist - it's fun but not essential.

Of all the airplanes that have made history. The DC-3 is number one one my list. Finding out that I could get a seat in one for a day trip was the max.
Equipped with some 12 seats you have a lot of room in this small airplane. The flight plan was Amsterdam-Maaseik (45 minutes) then to Rotterdam (40 minutes) then back to Amsterdam (20 minutes). No haste en embark , but an easy stroll to the airplane with lots of photo opportunities. I had a chat with the flight engineer who was quite happy to explain all technical aspects of the flight. All crew members cabin were very approachable and helpful. Filing shuch an aiplane at 1000ft lets you realt feel the machine and gives you a great view on the Dutch country. Words can not describe the feeling.

Tinker is an innovative airport transfer service. By using a smart approach to the market we have created an efficient and affordable way to travel. We want to restore the romance in travelling through our personal and reliable door-to-door service.
If you are going to Schipol Airport don't use this service, we were kept waiting 45 minutes for a pre booked taxi. The coordinator, Dominique was absolutely useless and should really have lessons in customer service. We were completely ignored for the first 10 minutes, and then despite repeated requests for answers, we were told 5 minutes. This went on for nearly one hour. We found out later from the taxi driver that she'd given our taxi to someone else.
