Like Northern Norway in miniature with Mountains, sea and nice small bays with fishing villages and boathouses. Appropriate breaks Lövvik (cafe and restaurant), Mannaminne (museum, cafe and restaurant), Bönhamn (cafe and restaurant) and Norrfällsviken (hotel, camping, pizza, cafe and restaurant).

Skuleskogen is a beautiful piece of raw nature and rough countryside on the Hoga Kusten (High Coast) between Docksta and Bjasta, easily accessible via the E4 motorway. It holds almost untouched nature and offers stunning views of the sea (as it sits on the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia) and breathtaking panoramas from the rocky hillside more inland. It offers a few different trails to explore: an easy coastal path that follows the shoreline to Näskebodarna, and quite demanding climbs around Slattsdallberget. The park offers a grill irons and dry wood to light a fire and cook a meal.

I can say this is a must visit if you go to Skuleskogen National Park, but be aware that this is no easy trekking. Take a nice pair of hiking boots, some water and food, because if you do the entire route, you might need about 4/4.5 hours, depending on weather conditions and your physical abilities. Not suitable for people with disabilities or children. Lots of big boulders, small Peebles and roots along the way...
I would recommend to stay overnight camping or on one of the several cabins along the trails. The views are amazing and you should enjoy them as much as you can!

One of the best places I've visited in Sweden, so far. The coastal roads are quite nice and you should drive some time along the coast. If you lack the time, go, at least, to Skeppsmalen. It's not in vain that's considered a World Heritage Site - it's indeed magical! Stroll around the village, enjoy one of the meals at the café/restaurant, and don't forget to visit the Surströmming Museum!

We went on a Saturday, so maybe we should have anticipated a bit of a crowd. Especially since it's quite cheap to get in. There is a fairly good range of saunas and pools to use, but with a lot of people it's also fairly noisy.
In the price for the spa entrance you also get access to the water park with several slides as well as indoor and outdoor pools.
If you have a day to spend in Örnsköldsvik and aren't afraid of water, why not?

Ulvö museum is very young and still relatively small, but it gives a wonderful homey feeling. There are many objects which one has no idea how to use today, though in the past they were a part of everyday life. The guide was very professional, and very flexible, depending on what kind of interests tourists have. For me it was a unique chance to see a real old fisherman's house, one in a row of others (which are private and look so nice that it makes you wonder how it all looks from inside). There is also an old chapel, definitely worth visiting. Very genuine, makes me wonder about history of Christianity in this Northern land...

The home arena for the ice hockey team Modo. There's a few pubs in the stadium which are open during the events. There's a restaurant in the stadium as well, which is very popular during lunch. The stadium is also filled with other events than ice hockey, such as Concerts etc.
