Great view of the Cibao Valley from all the way up there. The giant cross is very iconic as well as the our lady of Mercedes church and history behind the village.

In a family group we attended Mass on Wednesday attended by Chelo priest. It was something majestic and impressive , as it is a healing Mass for the sicks. Around the Cathedral they are full of people from early. You feel the power of God in this spiritual celebration. Advise:Bring your own chair to Mass because it fills early hours .

We just arrived from Jarabacoa, it is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days with anybody, we went with the family. Salto Jimenoa was a perfect time. We went through a path formed by stairs and hanging Bridges to get up to the river fall. My mother is an oncologic pacient 66 years old lady and she did it, so you can do it. It was pretty nice.

Baiguate Salto Waterfall

Reviewed By SMLBill - Huddleston, Virginia

This waterfall is really easy to access and certainly does not require paying anyone an "excursion" fee to visit. If you're coming from town, making the correct turn can be a bit tricky, as the sign that indicates to you to turn right is actually about 50 feet AFTER the road! We missed it the first time, but when you're coming from the direction of Costanza, the back side of the sign is a perfect indicator of where to turn.
The waterfall is down a well manicured path and has a great swimming area. The water can be a bit muddy (hence the 4 stars instead of 5), but it is very refreshing. This is a favorite destination for nearby camps, so arriving after about 2 or 3 in the afternoon may result in your sharing the falls with 40 or so international teenagers. That is interesting in its own right, however if you want peace & quiet, I'd recommend going in the morning.

Estadio Olimpico

Reviewed By clutch101

When ever you get a chance and Atletico Vega Real is home playing go watch a game. I went to a LDF match and it was awesome! Not the best stadium experience ever but it is something people from la vega can call their own. You get tickets from vendors outside and there are vendors selling inside soda, popcorn, chips and more. They even have a parking lot too. It is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon during the football season in DR.

This company runs a great motorcycle adventure. We went deep into the countryside exploring the heart and the history of the Dominican Republic. We explored everything from the inside of caves to spectacular Waterfalls and iguana preserves. We even made a quick stopover in Haiti. The motorcycles are very well maintained and there is always a chase vehicle not far behind. Wonderful hotels, great food, super nice people. Just the right amount of adventure. Safe, well run, educational and terrific fun. Do it!
