A yellow-roofed shrine, the temple reflects an extensive Tibetan influence.
There is a stupa in front of the temple which carries the portrait of a Buddhist monk. Frequently visited by the tourists, the temple has a tree on its one of the sides which was planted by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

This museum has nice collection of artefacts and also depictions of way of living of different tribes. It is a nice showcase of the entire variety in this state - all under one roof.
Besides examples of dwellings, display of cooking methods is interesting .
There is a special section dedicated to mountaineering and three Everesters from Arunachal get the pride of place therein. A must see, I should say.

Indira Gandhi Park

Reviewed By SatyendraGarg - New Delhi, India

It is pride of Itanagar. It is extremely green, beautiful and lovely. This is the place where all big outdoor functions happen, be it Independence Day, Republic Day, Statehood Day, political rallies, cultural or religious functions. Overall this is the most happening place in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from big functions, this is the place where children can play cricket, football or have picnics. It is an excellent place for walks and one can enjoy the great scenes and sights from here.
In a corner, there is a park dedicated to late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi whose statue is there to inspire the people. There is an old Indian Air force fighter jet placed there but has been damaged quite a bit.
Within the park there is a science centre where science and technology has been displayed. Can be good place to learn science and its application for young students.
There is no entry fee to the park.
There are three gates of the park and it would be lovely if you take a stroll around of the whole place. One would love it. The green surroundings and the views are definitely a huge plus point.

This is a park I would call. A nice view to a valley, but nothing more than that. Limited feature of fort remains. Maybe from 13 or 14th century, not no story to be talked about. Not my kind...

Craft Centre & Emporium

Reviewed By SatyendraGarg - New Delhi, India

A visit to the craft center and emporium enables one to see what the state has to offer you in terms of things you can buy. You can see Tankhas, excellent paintings, from all over the state, wood and cane work, masks and the best of carpets, textiles and crafts. Things are moderately priced as the craft center is run by state industry department officials.
Of course, the state has much to offer if one explores the vast area it has. But as that may not be possible for one on a short visit, craft center can be good experience to see what is on offer in terms of handicrafts and novelties.

Biological park Itanagar

Reviewed By ashwin99 - Bangalore, India

This little biological park situAted virtually in the heart of Itanagar is about 4 kms from centre. It is the continuation of the Ganga Pond. It has an ecquisite collection of animals including tiger, leopard, snake, monkeys, birds etc. A good place to take kids along for a lesson in the animals. It can be easily walked across or take your vehicle across for a small fee.
A days outing for the family.
