I and my wife visited this temple to feel temple's mood. This temple was bigger and older than I think. The atmosphere and view was very good because there was surrounded beautiful Mountains. The entrance fee was higher than I think, but it was money well spent. It was good experience to walking around this temple with cool wind. Recommendable temple.

I just finished my temple stay at Mihwangsa. I must say it's one of the best experiences I've had while traveling. You are free to explore as much as you want. You can learn about meditation, Buddhism and also be in contact with nature. The temple is beautiful plus very well located. The sunset is one of the best I've seen anywhere. Also, Jajae, (who is in charge of the temple stay,) is the nicest, warm hearted person that you will meet. I really recommend this temple stay for anyone, anytime and no matter from where you are.

Jindo is not only famous for its Jindo dogs, Jindo is also famous for its sea parting festival once a year around March or April time frame. It is practically a city national holiday for the locals here and they take it very seriously. Its great fun spending a day here to celebrate this natural phenomena so come out and see for yourself!

There are lots of camellia flowers around this temple, which is one of natural monuments in Korea. It is great to visit this temple when camellia flowers are in full blossom in Spring. Also, theirs is Dasan thatched house nearby.

This is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, we were heading off the ferry from Jeju and it made a nice destination for the afternoon. Considering some of the "museums" on Jeju this was much better. We had our 8 yr old son and he really enjoyed it. The museum is good with a range of objects and English descriptions. The walk then through the park area towards the actual footprints is also nice and includes some children's play areas.
The footprints are well preserved in covered enclosures and you can view them easily. The largest ones in the furthest away hall were the most impressive. Again descriptions in English.

The impression of that this is the southwest end of Korean peninsula could get me emotional. The sea and Islands! I rode a monorail but if I could have hike it, it would have been better.
