Bru Likholefossen

We drove the Gaularfjellet National Tourist Route and hadn't heard of "Likholefossen" until we almost drove past it. So glad we stopped!! Fantastic spot for photos and a picnic. Lovely waterfall, bridge, big wide rocks for sitting and a cute old hydropower station from 100 years ago or so. We didn't have time to hike but I bet it's beautiful, this was one of the loveliest river Valleys we drove through in our month long driving tour of Norway.

It is possible to walk around the buildings at any time for free which is what we did. however the young woman in the attached shop was very friendly and knowledgeable and we wish we had time to stay for a paid guided tourThanks so much for visiting our open air museum and your rating. And be welcome to a guided tour or showing our exhibition another time :)

Hafstadkleiva

This is a very strenuous walk! We are a moderately fit family who are used to hiking and mountain walking and we found this very hard. It takes 90mins each way realistically and walking poles are pretty essential We unfortunately had no view today due to low cloud but felt a big sense of achievement having completed it! Very friendly sheep at the top!

Huldefossen Waterfall

Reviewed By ActRegular_traveller - Canberra, Australia

We parked at a large agricultural college (Jolster at Mo) on the E39 about 10km from Forde (waterfall was signposted) and walked around 500m to the base of the waterfall along a road and well established track. The waterfall is quite impressive, around 90m high. There are some disused rural buildings there that are quite photogenic - the old turf roofs have sprouted quite sizeable trees. The cows in the field on the walk were quite sociable - one wanted to lick hands and have her head scratched.
Entry was free.

Sogn og Fjordane Kunstmuseum is a museum of modern and contemporary art in the region of the norwegian fjords. The collection in Førde comprises over 1000 works of visual and applied arts, ranging in date from around 1900 to today. The main focus of the collection is on regional and national art, with an emphasis on the period after 1970. The museum presents Exhibitions about regional art history from around 1900 onwards, contemporary art and provides information about artists. We produce permanent Exhibitions featuring art from five different collections (altogether around 4000 artworks) in the fjord region, temporary Exhibitions of contemporary art and educational activities for schools. A café selling soups and cakes, and a shop selling art and books can also be found in the museum.
