We came to this restaurant cause of the good reviews.
We have waited almost 30 mn for the menu. But it's normal... because there is no menu here. You have to wait for the explanations of the chef owner.
Don't expect to eat meat or something else than fish... you have just the choice between 3 grilled fishes. And you don't know the price.
There is no bread, no olives, no cheese. Just a soup of fish as a starter.
Then you have to wait for an other waiter for the drinks....
So we have paid 16 euros for 3 small pieces of potatoes and a small piece of fish.
As there is no menu, for drinks food, you don't know the price.
It was the most expensive price we've paid for this kind of meal in Azores. The drinks are also very expensive...
The previous and good comments for this restaurant definitively belong to the past.

My husband and I stayed on Lages, Pico for 3 nights recently. We had dinner at Fonte Cuisine one night at the recommendation of our Airbnb host & the other guests renting another room at our accommodation.
Unfortunately, it was not my favorite. We did not have Reservations, but we were quickly seated in the bar area. We were seated by a window overlooking the patio. The view really wasn't anything to remember.
My husband and I started with a local Pico white wine, which we thought was delicious. The bottle was much less expensive than we were anticipating. We ordered the local cheese and limpets to start with. The cheese was delicious, but I preferred the selection at Cella Bar. This was my first time trying limpets - and I'll admit - I'm not sure if I just don't like them, or if these were bad. They tasted very much what I would expect licking the bottom of an old boat would taste like. They are barnacles, and they tasted like them. They were smothered in garlic, butter, and oil, for which I was thankful. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to order limpets again during our trip for comparison - but if I visited Fonte again, I would not order these.
For my main dish I had the seafood kabob. The presentation was spectacular and the serving size was generous. That being said, I didn't think anything tasted particularly fresh. To be 100% honest, I was expecting a lot more. My husband had the sausage platter. He said, "it was fine".
All-in-all it wasn't a terrible experience, but I don't think I would recommend it for anyone with limited time on the island.

Nearly everywhere on the Azores you can get very good seafood, but here ist is really impressive. Freshness and quality of cooking are very high. we had grilled lapas, epetada with lulas and shrimps, and a polvo from the oven (style of the house). A meal which we'll remeber long time!

Visited the Whalecome for dinner at our first day at Pico and for lunch after our dolphin watching tour. The salads are pure and delicious. Now we're waiting for the warm homemade applepie with a scoop of vanilla icecream. It looks and smells whale'icious!
For dinner yesterday we had bacalhau pie and filet mignon. That was good, too. Verry friendly staff and nice atmosphere. You should go here while you're on Pico island!

This little café was located right in the middle of the town where we stayed. It had INCREDIBLE baked goods that seemed to melt in your mouth. I had a mushroom and cheese quiche-like creation that was amazing, while my daughter enjoyed a lemon tart that was equally as tantalizing. The coffee (espressos) in here smelled out-of-this-world as well. I would love to come to this place every day for drinks and snacks...yummy!

Casa Ancora is a modern restaurant that opened in August 2016 in Sao Roque do Pico. Architecture and design by world renowned Portuguese architects. Fusion cuisine by a young star chef with background in Michelin restaurants. Fresh local products. Carefully selected wines. Lounge open Terrace right in front of the ocean Casa Ancora - we are open for you!
Went for dinner at Casa Ancora with my husband and had a fabulous evening. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially with wine recommendations, and the food was fantastic.
We shared the bruschetta with chicken and lime as a starter and both thought it was lovely, and I then had the beef cheeks with marinated pear as a main (delicious, and incredibly tender) whilst my husband had the grilled octopus, which he said was fantastic. For dessert, the chocolate tart (which had coconut in the base) was amazing, and one of the best desserts I've ever had.
Although it was one of the more expensive meals that we had on Pico, it still only cost 60 euros (+ a tip) including wine, which for the standard of cooking I felt was great value. Would highly recommend!
