Nikkei food restaurant
Had lunch at Maido on my last day in Lima, after my hotel tried twice unsuccessfully to get Reservations on earlier days. The experience there was very much worth the wait and perseverance, as the flavors and execution are top-notch, making for a gastronomic experience that is not easily forgotten.
Maido is a true fusion restaurant, bringing together Japanese and Peruvian cuisine in a most creative fashion. The menu contains small dishes, nigiri, main dishes and more. Wanting to make the most of my opportunity to enjoy the food, I went for seven smaller dishes, spending close to two hours enjoying them all. The nigiri I tried were classical unagi, toro with mustard sauce, salmon with chili sauce and tuna with egg yolk. The nigiri were all excellent, but the unagi and the toro went beyond that and were truly exceptional. I tried the gyoza that were served under a light pancake with classical dipping sauce and found it very flavorful and fun. I tried a tamalinos dish with langoustines, squid and just an amazing broth to tie it together. The final item I had was a "meatball" with shredded beef, sake, spices and more, served in a light potato cheese mousse. The flavors in that dish were just out of this world.
The atmosphere is fun and the service is excellent. I sat at the bar and that had no negative effect on the waiter taking care of me, as he provided prompt, attentive and very friendly service. Sitting at the bar also offered me the opportunity to talk to the chefs and staff preparing the food there, which was also highly enjoyable.
To summarize, eating at Maido is an experience not to be missed and never to be forgotten. Flavors, execution, service and everything is just fantastic.

50+ Year Old Coffeeshop - Combines Coffee And Art
This was probably the best coffee I had in the last few years!
Absolutely outstanding taste and crema. The barista prepared our drinks with the affection and absolute focus on detail only true aficionados have.
Roasting beans in the premises, offering a view into the lab where they do their tastings and testing - it’s a small piece of heaven for coffee lovers.
Can’t wait to go back!

La Bodega Verde is the ideal setting to grab a snack, enjoy a light lunch, use your computer, study, read a book or hang out with friends. It offers a very large variety of teas and infusions, organic coffee, bruschettas, quiches, salads, sandwiches, more substantial dishes, desserts and juices in a very reasonable price range.
Great veggie options, chill sweet atmosphere with lots of greenery and outdoor Seating, extensive tea menu! Friendly staff. Gluten free and veggie vegan options (waitress let me opt out of cheese in my salad and add avocado instead). Delicious homemade desserts.

I went with my in laws, & we had great traditional peruvian seafood at a good price. We had ceviche de pescado, jalea mixto, causa de cangrejo & Tacutacu de mariscos. All excellent & fresh, with big servings that we couldn't finish. It's off the beaten path for tourists but worth the trip.

Our restaurant and bar offers a creative, dynamic and constantly evolving cuisine, inspired by the great national pantry. All this in the best atmosphere and with a grateful attention, giving the best gastronomic experience all the time. We provides you the opportunity to taste the acclaimed Peruvian national cocktail: Pisco Sour. After a delicious meal, unwind with a refreshing beverage at the bar, which opens onto a Terrace at street level, filling the space with natural light and creating a pleasant alfresco atmosphere. The restaurant offers a new concept of four integrated atmospheres, including the dining area, Terrace area, bar area, and private dining area.
I had an amazing ceviche and hubby loved his meal, a rice based dish. We enjoyed delicious piscos. This restaurant is very pretty, the service is great, the dishes are presented very well. It’s a great treat for a night out.

After almost one year, here we are again. And new flavors to be discovered. The maracuja-mango, the aguaymanto (a typical Peruvian fruit), the granadilla...all delicious and of fab texture and sweetness. Will definitely be back for more...

Artisanal gelato and sorbeto made on a daily basis with only the best local produce and imported italian products. We also sell homemade baked goods and a terrific organic peruvian blend coffee.
I was in Lima at the end of September 2016 and came upon this place while wandering around the Barranco District. The gelato is delicious! It ended up becoming a daily stop for me while in Lima. I don't recall all the flavours I tried but the one I do remember very well was the mint chocolate. I'm not normally a fan of mint chocolate but this one was made with fresh mint and shards of chocolate. The mint wasn't overpowering; it was refreshing. Yum. I highly recommend you stop in this place and try several flavours.
