Our restaurant is a casual place in which to get honest food in a warm and welcoming setting. Lunch is served from 12:30 every day Tuesday - Sunday. From 10:30am onwards our traditional Irish scones are fresh out of the oven - along with our fresh tarts and other diet crushing desserts. We have a strong association with the local farming community and are committed to local suppliers for meat, dairy, fruit, vegetable and other produce. All are welcome & we are wheelchair accessible. Looking forward to welcoming you and yours to The Forge.
We called in after a visit to nearby Altamont Gardens. We were warmly greeted and invited to chose our prefered seats.
We shared a starter of deep fried mushrooms, followed by two sandwiches. I chose double cheese toastie, my wife had roast beef ciabbata. Both were very well presented and very nice indeed.
For dessert, my wife had home made rice pudding, I opted for warm crumble. Both were delicious.
The staff were really friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Good food and Coffee/Tea stop while on the road to or from the Ferry in Rosslare or anytime you are out and about!
Smashing little cafe, staff very pleasant and helpful, prompt service despite being extremely busy. Great variety of food and very tasty, I had breakfast and lunch there and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone passing through Bunclody, it is the essence of the lovely village

Seemingly the only Place in Bunclody to get dinner. Although the name suggests Italian specialist this Take-Away actually offers a very broad range of nearly everything from Pizza to Burgers and Kebabs.
I had a Veggie Kebab which really wasn't too bad with good stuffing but unfortunately overloaded and dripping with sauce. Apart from thus being kinda hard to eat the sauce also nearly outflavoured all the other ingredients. But it got worse: I ordered Chilli&Chees Chips along which were outright awful. They, too, were drowned in sauce and therefore even hardly recognisable as solid fries. They rather reminded me of an ill-composed potatoe mash.

We visited Sorrento's yesterday evening based on Reading reviews of other clients. Some were bad but most were good. Based on our knowledge off we went for a look.
From our accommodation in Bunclody it was only 5 minutes walk. We first looked at the menu in the window and were very pleasantly surprised by the good selection on offer and the prices were very reasonable. We looked in and saw there were not too many there so we decided to go in.
We immediately were seated in very nicely designed and comfortable seats. The waitress offered us menus and although you cannot get a pint of alcohol we decided on a coke and a bottle of Heineken. The coke was €1.20 ( came in a can), and the Heineken was €4.95, which I thought might be a bit dear but I'm not sure if that is a standard price.
My wife selected fish and chips and I went for the 10oz sirloin steak with chips, onion and mushrooms. €16.00 for the steak meal, I think, is a great price. €12.50 for the fish and chips is reasonable too I believe. Needless to say, the meals were delicious and testament to that were the completely empty plates.
Such is their success as a takeaway that there was a regular clientele coming and going and pizzas were very well priced too. It may be a little unusual in a restaurant to have people coming and going through for their takeaways but people in the restaurant were unbothered, including ourselves.
Overall it was a great place to eat. Staff were pleasant but not overpowering. You were left in peace to enjoy your meal. It is very reasonably priced and we would certainly recommend Sorrento's and definitely go back there on our next visit to Bunclody or just passing through the town.
