The Island of MLJET is situated in a remote area that is far South of Croatia and west of Dubrovnik.
I reviewed this some years ago. I can't see my review here so adding again. You need to line up very early for the ferry. Huge queue and most could not get on. Waste of time! In our experience, which is the only one I can relate, we did that. But various people, almost the whole queue behind us, were let on before us. We could not in the end get on, although there should have been no problem at all as we were near start of the queue. The captain allowed 4 young Croatians on who had come very late - obviously friends of his and anyone else he seemed to know - Croatians.
One of our worst travel experiences.
Whilst we loved the seaside in Croatia, this type of behaviour happened a couple of times in the country, although this was the worst example of it.
There is plenty to see along the coast, give it a miss!

My husband and I hired a scooter and visited the cave today. It was our favourite part of our trip so far. Cliff jumping (for those brave enough! - I managed one jump!) and the most beautiful blue water. Take water, masks (the views under the water are spectacular) and good shoes (trainers or beach shoes) as the walk from the Tommy supermarket to the cave and rocks to get in and out are not for flip flops! Would definitely recommend - not very many people there when we visited at midday and great colour of the water. We loved it.

The guy who owns and runs Aloha is very conscientious and has very good bikes that are well taken care of mechanically. He has different sizes and even bikes for kids. His price was 50 Kuna per person for the day. As you get off the ferry, turn left and go past the first few bike rental places (who will charge you 75 kuna per person) and head down to Aloha which will be on the left side right on the harbor. Have fun!

Place is a hidden gem in the central part of the Mljet island. One of the oldest villages, positioned near the vineyards and some field, with preserved farms and many old houses from stone and other local materials. Village is calm, just with some tourists who love nature and old culture.
