This bistro is one of the few alternatives in Salla, and surely not the touristy one. This is the place all the locals come for uncomplicated food for decent price. I know people from the area and Akkavaara is widely appreciated. I was here with my family including a toddler.
It offers genuine local food and surprisingly good pizza. The prices are ok, and the two young girls staffing the place were very welcoming, friendly and quick. The bistro is centrally located between the Osuuspankki-bank and the K-market with Alko (liquor store).
When I am in Salla this is my choice of restaurant.

Focus on local produce (berries, meat, potatoes etc are from local producers!), all combined with professional yet relaxed service.

Even this is more liike afrerski restaurant, i would still recommend during daytime for families. Great pizza and other fast-food, Easy place to eat.

We are the only bar / lounge completely by using snow and crystal clear ice in Sallatunturi. We are just one snowball throw away from the slopes of Salla SkiResort. Come to us and experience the Taste of Arctic.

This is a place that You have to experience when in Salla. After skiing the hole day it was most relaxing to have a shot from iceglass. Beautiful building and excellent host.
