Large areas filled with restaurants, food stations, shops and more. There are several areas where you can sit outside while your food is being prepared. It's impossible to tell which one is decent and which one not so we decided to sit at a place that had a very happy and energetic hostess with a picture menu. Nobody really speaks any English but we had a good time, food was tasty and cheap. On the main commercial street there were a few very nice antique shops which are definitely worth a look. If you crave good coffee the Memory Box cafe is a very good option. It is on a street parallel to commercial street. About half way commercial street the is a square from there it's the second street parallel to commercial street.

This place is about 5 minutes walk from the famous food street in Dunhuang. The waitress will prompt you to the so called "Chef's recommendation" menu, but would suggest to go for their famous huang noode (yellow noodle), a small portion (1/5 cattie for 2) of donkey meat if you haven't try before, plus some appetizer size snacks. The noodle preparation room on the ground floor will allow you to take photo. Definitely worth a try as a Dunhuang specialty!

It's not easy to find a really vegetarian dish in China (normally you will always find the odd piece of meat snuck into your dish) but this place knows all about a vegetarian's needs. They serve delicious chinese food handmade from only organic vegetables and fruits. Vegans will find a lot of options here, too. The owner is a very friendly woman who speaks English fluently and who will care for you whether in person or even on the phone if you need a translation of the menu. We had a great conversation with her. They also serve wines, tea specialities and a great Spanish craft beer.

JNL Korean BBQ restaurant is a well known chain restaurant in China speciallized in Korean style BBQ and traditional Korean food such as Bibimbap,Kimchi,Sushi etc.we dedicated to provide best quality food and dining envionment for our distinguished clients.
We were traveling from Xinjiang and Gansu provinces in China and wanted to try something that was not chinese food.
This Korean bbq was a the best restaurant we found in these regions to escape the traditional chinese cousine.
Once we arrived in the restaurant the owner came to greet us, speaking a perfect english he answered all the questions we had and explained how the menu worked.
We order 3 different meats and 2 rices (seafood rice and vegetable rice). Food was very good and staff was very attentive and helpful, would certainly return and recommend for all travelers in the area.
