Pizzeria Restaurant. Good pizzas, excellent service, great prices. Come and visit us.
Food: For starters we had the typical garlic bread and a mixed salad. The garlic bread was still hot with delicious homemade bread. The mixed salad was okay, but the dressing was disappointing, because it didn´t have much taste to it. The main dishes were delicious. We had a Pizza Hawaii and a Pizza Quattro Formaggi. Both had a thin, crisp crust, which we loved! Overall great food, but we can´t recommend the salad.
Location: A small and cozy restaurant with a cute padio. It is very easy to reach by car.
Price: Fair Prices.

We walked down to this café as it was local to us. Friendly barman and I ordered the octopus and my wife the frittata pork. Both meals were a good size but what surprised us that both dishes were served on a bed of chips. Not the best way to show off the beautiful octopus dish that's for sure.
Cheap meal though and can't fault anything other than the lack of imagination on how to serve up a meal.

Okay: so despite being an avid user of Trip Advisor...I failed to spot this place until today (our 5th night in Calheta).
Mistake.
Been to other restaurants and had decent food for €€. At Salgadinho, there was a friendly welcome, the largest G&T you've ever seen outside a fishbowl and the best local cuisine cooked to order and very reasonably priced.
Please don't overlook this restaurant. New Era was great (we went twice) but Salgadinho's is the best!!

Requinte do Rochão-Restaurante Lovely and cozy restaurant On the florest and not far from the sea Típical homemade portuguese cousine
I'm more than happy to write a review for this restaurant. We where staying near by at some rural cottages, but it's worth a visit out to even if you're not near by.
It's based in a lovely woodland area, and perfect for those with families, and couples alike. It has a little play area, and what appeared to be an outside oven as well for summer months.
The gentleman there who served us really looked after everyone. As someone who has worked in the service industry I could tell he loved his job, and was the most attentive waiter we have had in a while.
The food was fab (sorry I don't have a pic I was enjoying it too much). You can choose from a number of traditional meals, but I would recommend the skewered steak. It was delicious!
They also had allot of homemade desserts rather than just your brought in frozen ones.
Lovely place, and great meal. Highly recommend checking it out.

Small bar with some drinks and snacks
My husband and I stopped in for coffee and empanadas (made there). Both were wonderful. It was just us and the locals stopping in for their morning coffee. The owners daughter waited on us and since they didn't have any vegetarian empanadas, they offered to...MoreThank you so much for your comment. We do our best for the clients. And it was really great to meet you. Thanks again Kind regards Bar africano
