The house of shadow was made to accommodate shadow artworks. In the convention hall you can you can see sculptures made from trash, which when appropriately light, they produce recognizable shadow forms.
If you ever find yourself in the beautiful city of Xanthi, don't miss the chance to visit this amazing place! This kind of art is so creative and original, I've never seen anything similar to this before! You don't have to be an art enthousiast in order to enjoy it; personally I'm not the kind of person to roam the galleries every time I visit a new city, but this exhibition really amazed me!
A really big advantage is that the artist is there most of the times, if not always, in order to guide the visitors. He's very polite and welcoming, he helps you see the details you'd otherwise ignore and reveals the ideas behind his works!
The exhibition is hosted in a relatively small space and as far as I can remember our visit lasted about 30-40 minutes. The "exit fee" (because we paid in the end and not in the beginning of the tour) was just 2 euros: totally worth it, without a second thought!

There is no way to go in Xanthi and not visit the Od Town. Sidewalks everywhere with various bars, caffes and restaurants everywhere.
If you visit it during spring or summer it's even better because stores have tables and chairs outside. Really lovely.
If you can avoid rainy days, do it.

Firstly the name is Waterfall of Libaditis or Livaditis Waterfall. The journey to get there is long and arduous. The journey starts from the sign on the main road between Drama and Xanthi.Head for the town of Livaditis. It is about 16 km.Just after you go through the town you will see signs for the waterfall. Then you reach a stopping area with signs saying waterfall 4km.I have put photos on to show the signs. You can either park your car there and walk or if you have 4x4 no problem. The road is rough and full of rocks and potholes.I managed to get 3km in my hired Fiat but it was 1st gear and very slowly. After 3.5 km you find a few signs on left side and a small track heading down. That is the start of the walk. Its a 30 minute walk at least downhill. There is a spot just after the 900 mt sign where you can get a great shot of the falls like the one I put up.Its where the path goes right or straight on near a large rock.Go to the left side of the rock along small path to where you will see the falls through an opening in the trees.20 mts.I have left a screenshot showing exact spot. Then go back to the track and follow it down to the falls. At the bottom go over a bridge and up some steps. Then reach the falls and sit on the bench and admire.

We rented a car from the airport, stayed in Kavala and drove here. The lookout is beautiful and a must see. Very nice on the way up and back down too. If coming from Kavala go to Toxotes town first, follow the signs for the nestos river and do the gorge walk on the left of the car park. It was beautiful!!

Every autumn since 1991, the old town of Xanthi — a small, traditional place in northeast Greece — hosts Xanthi’s Old Town Festival. It’s an opportunity for local and nationally famous artists to show off their paintings and photography exhibits, theatrical Performances, and book fairs as well as dancing in the streets. The Old Town makes a fantastic backdrop for this experience with its narrow streets and old houses. Be sure to head to Xanthi at the beginning of September to take part in this memorable festival.
One of the most livable places during autumn's entrance in North Greece. Many artistic events and plenty of traditional greek food.
