We really enjoyed the tour of the coffee farm. It was scheduled to be hour long but lasted at least 90 minutes. The guide was part of the family who owned the farm. We asked a ton of questions with the guide knew the answers to all of them. The Gesha coffee was their specialty coffee. The walk between sites was very enjoyable. The guide provided Utube clips for you to see the details of the coffee process. The roasting and shipping process was new to me. The final part of the tour was tasting the coffee which was alto a learning process. It was well worth the $10 fee per person.

Finca Dracula offers an unique opportunity to meet some of the rarest orchids from the tropics with its more than 2,000 different orchid species. Around this diverse collection, is the most exotic garden in Panama wich incorporates rare native plants you would never see unless you go deep in the forest. We make the most of our "Eternal Spring".
Amazingly beautiful place.. I wouldn't take a baby... or suggest that the smallest orchids be placed safely out of small children's reach.
I was constantly running behind my son to make sure he wouldn't touch or break something. It wasn't a relaxing afternoon.. lol.
A beautiful place just not for small kids.

Strategically located between the highlands and Lowlands of Chiriqui, Finca Ceriana forms part of a privately protected area for the conservation of flora and fauna in the region. Finca Ceriana's unique characteristics is the number of bird species that inhabit the forest. The farm offers 3 Kms of easy nature trails, a canopy tower, bilingual guides, gourmet picnic under the trees and much more..
Our family of 6, with 4 young adults had a days excursion planned at this wonderful family run reserve/coffee plantation. Unfortunately our travel agent had not provided any proper explanation what was to come other than ' Finca Ceriana Nature Experience - picnic lunch included'.
Having just completed several hikes in Chiriqui, we were all not that enthused about another 'boxed lunch hike'.
What a total misleading description of what lay before us! Upon arrival to the family's 600+ hectare working compound (complete with airstrip) we were met by Luigi Gonzalez de la Lastra , his son and two 'all terrain' vehicles. Once we were strapped in, we were driven around the massive compound amongst the coffee plants all the while getting a thorough explanation of the history and differences of coffee in the world.
Luigi gave us great insight into Panama's role in the coffee industry in a most hands on, informative tour. The tour ended in a beautiful valley where we were met with a tent covered table laden with delicious homemade sides and BBQ lunch complete with any alcohol we wished.
The setting amongst the hills of coffee and fields with the odd horse and chickens thrown in made us feel like an episode of the 'rich and famous' as we were catered to.
A perfect way for overworked young 30 year olds, tied to cell phones to reconnect to nature while engaging in lively conversation. Truly a highlight.
After lunch we got an interactive demonstration on how sugarcane is made into sugar before being driven back to the airstrip and our tour van.
Unfortunately had our travel agent properly informed us, we would have spent much more time than the 4 hours we did. We were sad that we missed the nature hike and observation deck included in the days excursion and will have words with our agent to supply better information next time. If it was anything like the first part of our time there I can only imagine what we missed!
Anyways as an avid traveller, I would HIGHLY recommend this outing to anyone wanting a true glimpse of Panama. During our 2 weeks travelling from coast to coast this was one of our highlights by far.
Big note... arrive early and make the 7 hours needed to fully experience all that there is to offer in this magical setting!

We went to visit this place with the lady we were staying with and it was wonderful. The stroll through her beautiful garden with all these neat flowers, plant, trees and bird noises.
Then we got a tour by Edna who runs the Barriles museum with all the antifacts that were found in the late 40s by accident and gave a lot of light to previous inhabitants of that area.
You will be greeted by her cute friendly dogs who are guarding the place.
We left a donation to help out!

What a pleasure in meeting Arte. A master artist. Made for my son a key chain and personalized while we watched. Arte is a master carver with just about anything. If nothing else stop and see his artwork. There is a table that he did that is one of a kind. Will be there again.

Panama's highest peak and only volcano at 3,478 meters offers sweeping ocean views and spectacular cloud Forests from its summit.
This is a beautiful area. If you have the chance, I recommend hiking up here. We started here and hiked the Quetzal Trail to Boquete. It is worth getting a guide just for the knowledge of the land that they will have. We booked through Hello Travel Panama. Alejandro was great, as was his assistant Tom! The scenery is beautiful. Lots of flowers, Waterfalls, and incredible views. It is a cloud forest so it can be misty or rainy. Luckily for us it was mostly sunny!

Raquel's Ark is both an AirBnB Hotel and Exotic Animal Rescue Center. we receive animals that may have been injured or abandoned. We are supported by donations. We receive new animals daily. we have Two Toed Sloths, Kinkajous, Coatimundi, River Otters Howler Monkey. Coyote, Owl, Toucan, Raccoon, Puma Jaguarunri, Margay.
What an experience! I never thought I would ever hold a sloth in my arms. Thanks to Raquel's ark, a have another tick on my bucket list. A memorable moment holding those slots and trying to control the over-excited howler monkeys. Even the coatis (raccoons) were adorable. The jaguar was beautiful and looked healthy, but please release it. It needs more space! Cats roaming in the middle just add to this remarkable place. A must see!

We went to Volcan from nearby David to enjoy the weather and discovered Volcan Canopy Park. We went for a enjoyable hiking in their carefully preserved forest area. I wish I knew more about insects and birds, as there are lots of species in the area! In any case, my kids loved our discovery adventure. The place also also provides zipline canopy tours, but for that you need to call in advance or book in the website, as they have their zip line tours scheduled. We scheduled one for the next day and it was highly enjoyable! Being a nature lover person, I made some pauses in the platforms to enjoy the views, which are breathtaking. The personnel is very friendly and professional, making sure everything is safe and fun.
