Udaipur, known as the Venice of the East, boasts several sparkling lakes against a backdrop of the Aravail hills. Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, islands in Fateh Sagar Lake, are the site of Udaipur Solar Observatory and Nehru Garden. Famous palaces include the magical Lake Palace, now a luxurious five-star hotel, and the massive City Palace on Pichola’s east bank, featuring epic courtyards and stunning paintings.

This temple to be very unique in terms of locations, maturity (old), sculptures and feeling. From outside it doesn't looks what is it from inside. Once you enter, it's a treasure. Feelings inside temple complex are superb, indicating the worth of this place. It is an ancient place with sacred environment.
Once you get inside the small temples, sculptures are very impressive. There are total 108 temples inside the complex. you will pass through various swaroops of Lord Shiva. in the way to main temple of Eklingji.
I felt blessed the moment I entered in the main temple, it was a al together a different feeling. One would feel like spending some time here and enjoying the calmness that you achieve.
I would recommend people to visit this place.

Pichola Lake is one of the most beautiful and picturesque lakes of Rajasthan, India. Located in the heart of the city, Pichola Lake is the oldest and one of the largest lakes of Udaipur. Pichola Lake is enveloped by lofty Palaces, temples, bathing ghats and elevated hills on all its sides. In the southern part of this lake, there is a hill that is known as Machhala Magra and one can see glimpse of Eklinggarh Fort from here. The City Palace of Udaipur broadens along the eastern banks of this lake. Built by Jagat Singh, Mohan Mandir is situated in the north-east corner of Lake Pichola. Lake Pichola comprises several Islands that accompany the calm waters of the lake. The world-renowned Lake Palace is perfectly located on the Jag Island of this tranquil lake. Even the Jag Mandir, another destination of tourists, is located on an island of this lake. Above all, a trip to Pichola Lake would be incomplete with a boat ride. The pristine blue waters of the lake leave a soothing impact on the spectator. At the time sun-set, a boat ride in this lake is sufficient to enthrall anyone.
We booked a lake trip via our hotel, Trident hotel, which offered a later afternoon cruise. After leaving the hotel we ventured up and around the lake palace hotel before cruising alongside the main shore lines and down to where numerous birds are roosting in the trees. Good opportunity to take photos of the buildings from a different perspective particularly the three palaces. Thoroughly enjoyed trip.

Fateh Sagar Lake is the second artificial lake of Udaipur, the first being Jaisamand lake. Located in the north of Lake Pichola, Fateh Sagar Lake lies just besides the entrance to Moti Magri Hill. Built in 1678 by Maharana Jai Singh, Fateh Sagar Lake got its name from Maharana Fateh Singh, who later made additions to it. Talking about the statistics of Fateh Sagar, the lake extends to the length of 2.4 km, 1.6 km. in width and deep to the extent of 11.5 meter. Fateh Sagar Lake is well-planned with three intake channels and an overflow channel that is usually brought into play in the rainy season. Fateh Sagar Lake is embellished by three small Islands, which can be reached by taking a boat ride in the lake. The largest island of the lake is developed into a park by the name of Nehru Park. The garden comprises a boat-shaped restaurant and a small zoo for children. This island park is the favorite picnic spot of Udaipur dwellers. The second island is converted into a public park with brilliant water-jet Fountains by the Government of Rajasthan. The third island addresses Udaipur Solar Observatory, which is the best solar observing site in Asia. Fateh Sagar Lake is quiet place where people usually come for relaxation and to lighten up amidst the serene waters of the lake. From the bottom of Moti Magri Hill, you can hire pedal boats or motor boats as per your convenience to enjoy a boat ride in the lake.
WoW, what a wonderful place to spend your lovely evening lakeside while enjoying boat ride, horse ride & camel ride and enjoying street food at chaupati adjoining lake area. Really a must visit and fun loving place for everyone.

Went with a large group (total of 10 people, including 4 kids) to the approximately 1 hr cultural program in the evening. Show starts at about 7 pm, tickets available starting 6:15 or so.
The Haveli is pretty close to the City Palace.
The show comprises of a snap shot of folk dances from different regions of Rajasthan, including a puppeteer. It was colorful and entertaining.
Entry was Rs 150 per head (~ $2) and absolutely worth it.
We only went for the evening show, never got around to touring the haveli/museum during the day.
Recommended!

The Celebration Mall,Udaipur is the first mall in the city offering world class shopping and lifestyle experience under one roof. Built in ethnic architectural style, the mall is the first iconic heritage mall in India with a unique blend of ethnicity on the outside with modern conveniences within and can be considered a landmark of Udaipur - iconic, different.
We enjoyed visiting this mall in Udaipur during our 2 day visit to that magical city.
Kids had Mickey D's, we stopped at Big Bazar and I bought some perfumes at Azmal Perfume shop.
My wife got some deals at some of the clothes shop and my daughter loved the double decker rides that was available at the mall.
Good parking spots available as well.
Overall, not a bad place to kill a few hours.

This sacred temple attracts worshippers at 5 AM each day.
a temple that brings people from across the country BUT commercialised by the pandas.... very crowded though ofcourse by paying the pandas heftily one can get a closer look/ darshan of the deity... rude sewadars who treat the devotees with disdain and contempt for staying a second longer

Beautiful and not very large, this temple is situated on a corner where 5 streets come together. After viewing the temple, consider lingering on the steps to watch traffic, cows, and people. Or, if you want to be more comfortable while you do this, get a window table at the restaurant across the street, in the yellow building. Rush hour is particularly chaotic and interesting to watch.

One of the best museums in India. So much to see and explore. Lots of stairs are there so u must be fit to explore and walk a lot here. Hiring a guide is also necessary or u will walk past without noticing. One must get ur student badges to avail the discounts for students in school or college we left ours, it’s a good 2 hours to explore the place so come with enough time. Comfortable shoes We also did shopping outside and took the medicine quilts.
