it was sudden plan to Nelliyampathy hills. It is 118 kms from our exactly. Felt driving through the hill was peace initially , but later felt tired due to large no of cars on Sunday. Climate was not all chill , but was away all kind of pollution. If you are ready for roadside vendor food , you find lots of stalls and 3-5 restaurants (moderate) in the main area. As soon we crossed Pothundy Dam found one monitor lizard on the roadside. I liked the view point , enjoyed with few snaps. I couldn't visit Mampara, Seetharkundu , but I would revisit this place once again for sure.

Though this Church is built just 200 years back, it has witnessed a lot of historical moments of the Christianity in Kerala. The Church has got typical Kerala Portuguese influenced Church architecture. With the careful renovation done a few years back, it looks more beautiful now. The murals painted in the eastern wall of the altar are of high quality and the study material of many archeology students.

St. Johns Syrian Orthodox Church is commonly known as Mepral Valiya palli. which means a large church, or great church. But when compared to the great churches of the world like Rome’s St. Peters Basilica, London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral, or even some of the big churches in India, Mepral church is very small. Still Mepral St. Johns Church is the Valiya palli or the Great Church for people having their roots in the village of Mepral and its premises in Kerala. This church was built on 1861& renovated on 2016 .and keep its old structure. Padmasree G. Shankar's Habitat team helped for renovation .
