It is a beautiful old street especially at night, with lots of red lanterns. The stone pathway is lovely and there are many small statues depicting traditional Chinese activities, but there is not much happening otherwise. Most of the street is restaurants and relatively few shops or street vendors. Of the many Chinese "old streets" I've seen, this ranks low on my list of them. Good for an hour, not much more.

Mei Lanfang was a star of Peking Opera; this park & museum in his hometown is dedicated to his memory. Entry is 30 CNY. The park is a nice break from the noise & hustle of the city.

I visited here during the Chinese New Year holiday. There were not too many people. It's a protected wetland, with high quality facilities for tourists. The exhibition area is well done, but the natural scenery is worth the visit. The water was very clean. If you are lucky you may see wild elk. There is a play area with some fun Bridges, boats and activities. Tickets were 100 yuan.

Wanghai Tower, situated in Wang Hai Lou in Fengchenghe Scenic Area is a new landmark for the city of Taizhou, Jiangsu province. The tower was constructed in the 2000's in a location previously associated with towers dating back to the Southern Song dynasty (1127–1279). The tower is situated in a large well maintained park.

I literally only visited this place because I live in Gaogang district, and I have seen a sign telling me to go there. I finally had a boring weekend so I went to check it out.
I was pleasantly surprised with all that there was to do there. The Carved mansion itself is 40RMB to visit, but for 60RMB you can visit all the museums as well. Note that all the Museums are in Chinese so that might be a reason to not go in.
The carved mansion area was pretty big with amazing Gardens and really cool architecture. You actually have the ability to go into the house and explore both floors. The place is mostly furnished so you can get a good Idea about how the people lived.
If you are in the area and you have time to spare I would put this on the list of things to see.

I stumbled onto this temple some years back when I was searching for another place and the taxi driver took me here instead. This is an amazing temple. It might not be as grand as some or as written about but this temple is powerful. A lovely collection of buildings with Buddhas, this always inspires me and makes me grateful for my life. The roof details are amazing and the main large golden Buddhas are beautiful. The compound is larger than it appears, so be sure to wander around to find new spots. To participate, buy incense at the gate when you come in. You light it in the fire hutches and place them in the sand incense burning section. Put them in groups of threes to pay homage to what you hold dear. This is one of my favorite places in Guangzhou. Don't miss the vegetarian restaurant to the left of main temple entrance. It is about three businesses down in a hotel. Yummy!
